I got the response. They told me the answer to two of my questions. One of them makes perfect sense, don't know why I didn't think of it. The other one was easy too, just using a shortcut that I was unaware of. The third one, and the most basic I think, they didn't know the answer. Their suggestion matched what I had been thinking, but based on the pictures in the guidelines, it clearly isn't right.
Makes me mad. I lost the Full Text Review qualification. That's where the "good" money is for them. I still have the QC though. They recently changed the format of those. Makes it a lot easier to grade them, and I have found a ridiculous number of mistakes, even with disregarding missing uh, um, etc. I don't really understand that either. Either those are important to them, or they're not.
Interesting that you say that. I got one of the (no period) ones on QC last night. That's the first time I've seen that. The next word was capitalized. I don't remember the exact grade I gave them. It certainly wasn't perfect, and I did leave a message for them mentioning that it looked very strange, and I wasn't exactly sure which grade was appropriate.
Sorry you lost your Full Text Review qual, ewd76. I still have mine, I work them every day. I hope I don't loose it, because I work them everyday and count on the money. At least you still have your QC. When there is a lot up there are quick. I only work Crowdsurf, I don't work any of the other transcription requesters. I do work Speechink Home Inspection audio's when those are up in the morning, if there are not Full Text Review's up. When nothing else is going I type. Nice talking to you ewd76.
Nice talking to you too. I've noticed when I've been doing the QCs that if you mark too many of them as poor, it will tell you at the end, that you are forcing the Full review to be rejected. At least they give you that information, I guess so you can go back and look at the ones you've marked poor to see if you can find a reason to mark it good. That's a good system that they've added in the last few days, as well as very specific rules to check off if you give a grade any less than perfect.
Yes, I think it is good to know what we did wrong, for future reference. Why don't you email them and ask them about why you lost your qual, or maybe ask them to review it again.
I know this is kind of an old thread, but seeing it made me nervous because I do a ton of Crowdsurf and it would really suck for me if I lost my qualification. My "Qualified to work on Transcription Tasks" is 541 right now, I've never got a rejection from them, nor have they ever contacted me about my work other than to tell me my qualification score is going up. Am I worried for nothing? Is there anything going on at Crowdsurf?
