Great comparison. Where do you plan on putting 200+ million more people we have than Germany? Or the nearly 3 million square miles of land mass in the continental US compared to 137,000 square miles that comprises the ENTIRE country of Germany? Definitely an apt country to aspire to be like. The only way to fix the state of our economy is by growing the middle class with a living wage. The middle class spends money, while the 1% do not. Injecting the economy with a proper living wage works by taking the huge burden of welfare off tax payers. Walmart alone cost us 6.2 billion to keep their workers on food stamps, medicaid, housing - due to walmarts low pay, poor hours, failure to provide insurance-etc. Then the other side is when the middle class can afford basic living expenses they will buy cars, electronics, houses-etc/injecting money back into the economy, everyone wins when we have a middle class. The time when America had the best economy was in the postwar 45-73, when we did not have a very large income gap. Reaganomics which clearly has not worked by cutting taxes at the top while the bottom pays more, every one of us paid more in taxes then Citigroup which payed nothing in taxes - they would pay a estimated $11.5 billion if they were no longer allowed to jump through loopholes like offshore accounts. Don't pick your president or politics on things like terrorism/fear tactics/religion the economy is what matters on your dinner table.
