yeah i pretty much accept a hit right away then read thru it and decide if its for me or not.. theres times i'll get 1/2 way thru a survey spent 15 mins on it and they want me to write a paragraph or 5 about something and i'll just return the hit and move on.
Ok I was wondering if doing that hurts your ratings or not. Thanks! Some of the transcription jobs are what get me. It will look good, then when I accept it all of a sudden they are paying you $1 for 3 hours worth of transcription! I don't think so!
A lot of those transcript requesters other than the ones that have been around for ages will lie and say that the file is only 5 minutes and when you download it, you find out it's 20 minutes for 2 bucks. That's when those get returned.
Yes I've run into that also. I started to download a file the other day and thankfully I noticed my computer was telling me it was going to take 45 minutes to download! That got returned. I've had a couple of really good requestors for transcription jobs so I keep looking!
Very true. I started turking doing their hits on the very first day. Almost 50% of the hits i did for them got rejected. I am still striving to repair the damage they've done to me.
yeah sure, here you can see the poor wokrers who got scammed by this bad requester --> http://turkopticon.differenceengines.com/A2AHGXFCWUFIOC
Anyone have any opinions on Social Media Research? Yes, I am biased. Yes, I am actually the Requestor I'm constantly chatting with everyone on Turker Nation, but haven't been as active on here. Just want to check it with you guys and see what you like, hate, ignore, etc.!
I gave Qualtrics my Worked ID for a couple of surveys. I was skeptical about doing so for a while, but I figure the ID is there for a reason. Is Qualtrics generally good and safe?
I've never had an issue giving my worker ID to them or any other survey. A lot of surveys ask for it- they use that to make sure you haven't already done the survey or if the survey is more than one part- to link to your account so they can pay you for bonuses, etc. after the initial survey is complete.
Yep, a lot of surveys ask for your worker ID, and it's pretty much just to make sure you're only taking the survey once.
Jon Berlig is a requester to be aware of he is a majority rules type of requester. He is rejection happy. He has hits that are 0.09 and 0.02. I have gotten more rejections from him than anyone else. He doesn't answer emails, questions or anything like that. Be aware he is not good.
Rowan Edkinsonn asks you to vote on a separate website, and an hour later rejects your HIT, saying you didn't actually vote. I did vote, and e-mailed this requester to see if the situation could be rectified. Either way, one single rejection makes a big difference...Pretty annoying.
Better avoid these HITs as these HITs violates Amazon TOS. 1. Those tell you to vote a particular candidate or image 2. Those which ask for downloading a software 3. Those which ask for signing up or register under a referral url
