Is Crowdsource really better than Crowdflower?

I Just got ban from doing 3 crowdsource hits this past month, yea i was slacking a little bit. But the reason I think crowdflower is better is because when I get banned from a hit they produce new ones right away. As opposed to crowdsource where their hits are basically repetitive. So I'll barely have any crowdsource hits to do at this rate. Guess I got to be more careful and walk on eggshells with there hits.

My experience (not much) with crowdflower is their HITs require way too much work for the pay, which is the reason I avoid them. However today they came through with the HITs that had you judge if a statement was positive or negative. Maybe a sign of good things to come from them. As far as Crowdsource goes the only work I've done for them is the Page rankings on google and find the most relevant results with a google search. They pay decent for the amount of time and effort involved. Problem with those is you are limited to how many you can do :(

Crowdsource does usually cap you after a certain number of completed HITS and then emails you when you can do some more of those HITS. I think most of CS HITS are extremely easy.

As for Crowdflower, well, I'm not a huge fan. They seem to let you do a few HITS and then say you are not doing them right or whatever and leave you hanging. I usually will do a few, very few, CF hits unless I see that they are paying enough to compensate for the amount of work you have to put in.

My overall vote would have to be for CS though!

Yea those limitations sucks also they need a percentage monitor like crowdflower, I'm tired of being blindsided by these "you are not eligible to work on these hits, with no warnings whatsoever smh.

Yea the hits are easy but they need to have a better system of warning you or even commenting on your work performance, they usually send it to your crowdsource profile, and lets be honest I doubt anyone even checks those things. I just realized that's where requesters send performance feedback. Which to me is dumb why not just post it next to my Pending Payment status ?

I think CS is way overrated. The variety of HITs is small and they are boring. The pay rates are getting worse. Last night I did categorize websites - six I think for 12c and it took me nearly 10 minutes. There certainly are better requesters.

Crowdflower offers some of the most labyrinthine HITs I have ever run across, along with gold questions that seem to be based in an alternate reality.

Crowdsource has their ups and downs, but they are usually fair.

Neither are on my Top 10 requester list, but Crowdsource is, IMO, better than Crowdflower in all aspects.

CrowdSource is my favorite requester, while CrowdFlower (maybe it should be called CrowdCloud or CloudFlower considering their logo) usually rips you off, but are very kind with their approvals. It's safe work.

I could give you one way they are not better I said before crowdsource hits are basically repetitive, new ones are rare. So if your work is not up to par sooner or later you will be screwed and have no hits left.

I forgot to add another of my CS peeves. With the CS HITs you can't predict what you will get. Somedays I can do 20, next day 3 and other days 0. I don't need the unpredictability. If they say there are 12000, I want to believe I can work as many as I can handle.

Ok agree to disagree on that. But hear me out lets say you have done over 100 of the same CS hits, and all got approved so you're thinking sweet. Then all of the sudden without any warning email or message by your pending payment status, you get hit with "you are not eligible to work on this hit". Then you finally realize all feedback is on their crowdsource site not even mturk, not even your email. Why would I even think TO CHECK THE SITE IF ALL MY HITS ARE APPROVING? It's a wacky system when you think of it.

I wouldn't know as I haven't got a single rejection / warning / ban and I like to check my stats on their website every few days :)

No one gets rejected or a warning BTW. Well at least warning that they would be aware of.

TBH, I don't think CrowdFlower is that bad, I've made $70+ off them in the past 2 days with about 4.5 hours of work.

All I know is that I do prefer Crowdsource over Crowdflower. They are both requesters that we can count on to make a few bucks here and there. Crowdsource seems to pay better than Crowdflower, most of the time or at least post Hits up worth doing...besides the "keyword search" Hits. But every once in a while CF will surprise you with a good Hit. I'm all about doing Hits that work for me and if nothing is out there worth my time, I'd rather do Hits for either of these two because I know they will pay, rarely reject and as far as Crowdflower let you know how you are doing while doing their Hits because of their Quality Control test.

But, yeah some of the Hits are way underpaid, specially CF.

My other peeve with CS is the crappy software they use. I have seen this or a similar message far too often. Today I looked at this hit and then accepted it and got this message. I hadn't worked or accepted anything from CS for several days.

You have accepted another HIT from this project.

Please click on the "Return HIT" button above to return this HIT.

I was not sure about CF as I have never done those hits.. but I may do a few as fillers since many agree they are a safe requester.
