Didn't see this posted in yesterday's thread. Title: Immigration to the USA Requester: Jolanda jetten [A2NFMO19T1GIU2] (TO) Description: Give us your views on immigrants and ethnic minorities in the USA. ONLY TAKE PART IF YOU ARE A US CITIZEN. I accidentally posted this in the other thread but I guess I'll ask again if it's ok. I have a noob question and I hope it's appropriate for this thread. How would I go about getting in contact with a requester about a qualification other than hitting the "request a qualification" link. I read about people emailing the requester but I don't see how one can get that contact information since the "contact this requester" link doesn't show up on the hit if you're not qualified. Am I missing something? I tried to search the forum for an answer but couldn't find anything. I'd really like to work on those D W hits if i can.
For Masters Title: Answer a survey about you Requester: Mark Schar [A2JU0X1M2PFHU1] (TO) Description: Rate 60 items on how they describe you Reward: $1.00 Qualifications: Total approved HITs is greater than 100, Masters has been granted, HIT approval rate (%) is not less than 95, Location is US Link: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=2FH56XBAT2D5NREN1RUQ6JGA12T04W Powered by non-amazonian script monkeys Took this a couple days ago. Was pretty quick, but lots of bubbles if I remember correctly.
You won't get the qualification. I've emailed him several times and have not got a response (along with other people). I only had his ema because we were in touch a few weeks prior regarding work he had up then.
Anyone ever have trouble finding their own hits? I always think the one that I am on is not worth my time, but I don't really know what good ones would be called. I know about the search parameters, but I don't really know how to adjust those to get better hits in a search query. Any help on this would be appreciated!
There are no search parameters that would specifically give you good HIT's. There are $15 an hour .05 HIT's and $2 an hour .50 HIT's...it all just comes down to learning, over time, what is good and what isn't. If you don't feel like what you are doing is worth it, then go try something else. Eventually you will have a mental, and physical list of good, great and bad work.
Well, >3cents weeds out oscars so I thought it would be useful, thanks for the tip though. Whenever there aren't any links here I come to a stop because everything I find is terrible and discourages me to do more, but I'll try to find something. Otherwise I'm out of commission 2-6 hours a day
Title: Fill out a short or longer survey Requester: Marsha [A24XIXRMY0GBVV] (TO) Description: Fill out a short or longer survey Reward: $0.15 Qualifications: HIT approval rate (%) is not less than 95, Location is US Link: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=2BVM4F0OHOVRTUCAARTLF2HJKZH32I Powered by non-amazonian script monkeys Took about 2 minutes.
A lot of it comes down to "right place right time." The good stuff isn't on there all the time. Good stuff goes quick, so when you don't have a list of the good stuff, you have to always be on the watch for it. The biggest thing I can think of for anyone new is to not use any filters, and just browse through for anything that wasn't there the last time you looked. There's the stuff that is always on there, so when you see a requester name you don't usually see it might just be something awesome to do.
This is exactly what I did when I was starting out. I did everything I was qualified for just for the experience and the numbers. Within my first week I was making between 10-15 per day and since then I haven't ever made less than 20 per day. I know it's not much by some standards but I am quite satisfied with it, for now.
Anyone here have experience with Amazon Requester Inc.? I'm looking at a categorization HIT posted yesterday, auto-qualed with a score of 80, requires 85 to work on it. How do I get the score up? Are these worth doing?
Well, since this isn't being used for great hits anyway, are redwoods .03 transcript hits worth it to you? (don't try to feed me that "A hit for every person", I'm interested in opinions) Any other, better paying transcribers out there? Since last post was an hour ago, this shouldn't bother anyone.
Lol, there are no great HITs early on the weekends. I haven't done much Redwood, so I can't really say how fast they can be done, but I do a lot of Crowdsurf. Their interface is helpful, and I do a .10 HIT about every 45 seconds when the speakers are good, around one every 2 minutes with the mumblers and speakers with accents. And they post batches pretty much every day, but they just ran out. I've heard Castingwords is the best paying transcription, but the first two I did got rated a 7 and an 8, which dropped my score below their minimum.
You can tell when it's a weekend because the only surveys that are available to take are usually low in pay, high in time involvement. I'm sitting here down $0.50 surveys and am having to spend around 10-12 minutes on each one. Brutal. I'm up to $7 for the day at least, so at least I've almost hit double digits
I checked out Castingwords, but my laziness has gotten the best of me. I like to get 1,000 10 second hits and lose out on a few rather than lose one 1:30 hit, but I doubt they'll get too angry at me. Thanks, I'll be sure to check out crowdsurf. So your secret is to... Do the bad ones anyway, interesting. I'm only at around 3 bucks... Thats with a turkexperiment webcam hit too :/ -sigh-
This was kind of fun. Took me 11 min, though. Title: Guess my story. Requester: CrowdCamp'13 Creativity Team [A1Z6ANVZ53BG1X] (TO) Description: I've got a story in mind for you.
