I did a HIT for l2w months ago and was blocked a week later. I just got an e-mail this morning for a second block by them. The first time I contacted MTurk support and they said I should not have received an e-mail about the block. I'm sending them another e-mail to make sure that's still the case. Doing even 1 HIT for them apparently gets you multiple blocks.
If they removed the 1st block and posted another similar HIT they may have put another block on your account. Make sure you get an answer from Amazon, to me it looks like they are the ones sending e-mails by mistake.
I just got an email from them blocking me again and I haven't done any hits for them since before I got the first block email. Definitely contacting MTURK support about this since this is my second block and both are from this requester.
I don't get how they can block people again. Happened to me too and I certainly did not do any additional work for them after last time.
2nd block from l2w I have not done any work for them, and now they have blocked me again for no reason, if this continues, my account will be getting suspended for no fault of mine. Feel so sad..
Sad to see l2w is still doing damage to people on here! Double blocks wtf? lol He blocked me back in August 2012, along with 300 rejections to go with it.. for perfectly good work! Nice guy indeed :S
These e-mail notifications are being sent out in error by Amazon. Multiple people have contacted Amazon and that is what they have been told. I have worked on their masters batches since last year and have no rejections or blocks.
I know that's what Amazon has said, but based on my own personal experiences of l2w, I highly doubt the hard blocks were accidental, he has a history of mass rejecting and blocking workers going back to mid 2012.. Also, I've never known him reply to a single email from a worker, despite the carnage he's caused (his block to me last year resulted in account suspension, that I managed to get overturned the same day luckily) It's nice to see at least someone's got a nice word to say about him, but to me he's the lowest of the low
Errors that give people minor heart attacks should be fixed quickly, this one is quite old. Even still at least it's an error and our accounts shouldn't be in jeopardy. My best guess is that they lifted the block on me for a previous HIT then re-blocked me for a new batch they may have posted recently.
Just got an e-mail saying I am blocked again by l2w!! WTF?!?! Going to contact Amazon. This is ridiculous. Is l2w's whole scheme is to get people's accounts suspended? How can he double block you if you did no work for him.
Amazon is the one sending e-mails out by error. They are the ones that are causing extra stress for turkers. Amazon encourages the use of blocks, both to prevent duplicates and to prevent workers that are doing bad work/scamming. After the block is issued, it is up to Amazon to determine what type of block it is. If the block was meant to prevent duplicates, the e-mails ARE NOT SUPPOSED to be sent out. l2w is not the one sending e-mails out with the harsh warning, it is Amazon. Mistakes like this one have been occurring for years. I know specifically of 5-6 other times over the last 18 months when Amazon has sent out mass block e-mails that were intended as soft blocks by the requester.
I am writing this on behalf of my friend he got a mail from Amazone that I2W has blocked him from doing further hits. he doesn't remember when he performed their hit. after one and half month requester " we-pay-you fast" has blocked him from doing their hits . he never got any rejections from them for whatever hit he attempted for them. all hits are approved and he received money. he send mails to amazone about this but does't get any clear reply from them. few day back just to know whether I2W has withdrawn their ban or not , he accepted the hit . when he came to know that his ban still exists, without attempting the hit he just returned the hit. the next day he got a mail of account warning from amazon , and few days after his account has been cancelled. his account was suspended only because of I2w . his got his third warning from amazon because he just checked his status of the ban of I2w. Actually he got only two requesters ban . According to Amazone turkers account will be cancelled if more than two requesters block . amazon has not done fair to him by suspending his account. he also lost more than 100 dolors . he contacted amazone , but as usual their reply was same as they reply to all others. this is the story he needs valuable advise from members kindly help him
