The hits are moving slowly probably because the hits that have already been worked on haven't approved yet. The workers aren't sure if they are doing the work right as they haven't got the feedback from you on the hits that have already been submitted. Just my $0.02.
Took a day off from turking yesterday and honestly thought these would be gone. Glad I got some work this morning!
Haha, exactly where I am heading! We must be the only 2 working on these, as the numbers are not seeming to go down very much!
I really want to work on these. Seems like I am having a really hard time finding the info. He seems like a great requester and needs this work done. I would certainly welcome any suggestions on the hits. Am fairly new and these are my stats: HITs Submitted 2120 — ... Approved 1629 99.5% ... Rejected 9 0.5% ... Pending 482 —
Just dropping by real quick to update everyone of the status. I am canceling the rest of the HITs that have not been completed (that require the x8 Data Qual and 99% approval) and will be reposting the ones that have not been returked yet but with lower qualification standards. There are only about 1,900 left, but collectively only 400 were done today and I need the data by tomorrow afternoon to keep my project plan on track. Since I am lowering the qualifications I am also no longer paying out the extra $0.02 per HIT. I will go through and approve all HITs that have been done and are pending (if the work meets quality standards) and will calculate bonuses to award ($0.02 x number of HITs done between 3:42PM Central on 2/14 and now). Thanks to all that have been working on them, just need to open it up to get the data faster.
what if the execuutive name you want is lilttle different from what we find on the official website of the company???
Thanks for the bonus. Hope you get your data quick and that it's accurate. Edit: Finally finished. Hoping for more.
Thanks to everyone who helped me get through that data. I've got one more part of this project I am going to feed through Amazon. Expect a load of more HIT's Monday. Until then I am diving into the data. Have a great weekend.
That rules me out. I have a really high rejection rate because I helped beta test mTurk when the service first launched, and Amazon's own HITs for matching CD cover art to band names and businesses to photos of store fronts tended to result in a decent number of rejections just as a matter of course. A problem they refuse to help me with, despite being a beta tester and despite their HITs being my problem. I think I've had not even 10 rejections since the beta, but the 2200+ I ran up in ~2005 means I can't do work like this. It makes a lot of good work on mTurk unavailable to me. I don't think many requestors understand that a high rejection rate doesn't necessarily mean poor work. There are other reasons for that.
So long as CastingWords doesn't go that route, I'll be happy. I'm always open to new work, but I usually end up right back with them.
17,517 submitted 15,235 approved (86.9%) 2,571 returned 2,281 rejected (13%) 51 abandoned I was really happy when I found CrowdSource last year. As fast as some of the Google ranking HITs went, I figured I could do a couple hundred per day and have my rejection rate sanitized within a year. Then I ran into their "lot" limits and so much for that idea. I tried some Oscar whatshisname, you know, the business card HITs, but I can't do them very quickly. I did the test HITs you have to go through before you can do the real ones and got something wrong on every single one. I had to slow down enough that it would have been painful. With a rejection rate like mine, there are many others that could probably go quickly that I can't do. If I ever find a source where I can do about 84 per day for a year straight, that'll give me an additional 30,000 which should just do the trick for 95/5%. 99% is never going to happen. I'd need 225,819 total approvals for that. Not being able to do the high approval work doesn't bother me half as much as Amazon's unwillingness to work with me to get this issue addressed since I ran up those rejections doing their own HITs while beta testing this dang service. That's downright unprofessional. Edit: to illustrate what an impediment this can be at times, there are 203,686 HITs available as of this posting spread across about 3,000 pages. If I turn the qualification filter on, the number of pages drops to 1,745. Ouch.
26091 Submitted 26052 Approved (99.9) 28 Rejected (0.1) Currently there are 198,842 hits available now distributed in 3001 groups. If I turn the qualification filter on, it shrinks to just 908 results. So even with that horrible approval rate you are able to do more hits than me. All of that because I am a non US turker.
No news from Dustin yet? I had heard he was planning on putting up a large batch today at some point.
