I'm gauging to see how many people were completely destroyed by this guy Ben on his HIT's? If your approval percentage dropped below say 96-97 percent post here or shoot me a message. I am going to be creating a batch that will help those people that were destroyed by them. I am just trying to get an idea of how large of a batch I'll need to make. You will need to be able to provide screenshots of your rejection percent, so if you are just trying to up your numbers please don't waste my time.
I never touched his HITS. Sorry to hear some of you got affected by his insane rejections. That's nice of you to try help those who got their percentage rates down. That'll help for sure.
Yeah I managed to miss them to, but I know that there are some people that got completely crushed. So i'm hoping that maybe I can give them 1,000 quick and simple hits that they can do in a short amount of time that will at least help a little bit.
I did some of his hits a couple of weeks ago and only had one rejection, so when he had all these hits this week, I told my boyfriend about them. Half of the ones he did got rejected and his approval rate dropped below 95. I was busy working on a different batch at the time, but I feel so bad recommending them hits to him.:frusty:
Huh? So it's okay for BEN to destroy other workers numbers, and Amazon not do anything to help, but someone willing to HELP others will get busted by Amazon? You are funny!
It doesn't have to be illegal, but it is EXTREMELY against the terms and conditions and anybody that participates in something like that even in a nothing but good natured manner is risking their accounts getting suspended...I saw it talked about in the developer forum before and they do watch for stuff like that...why do you think that people aren't constantly creating batches for their friends. I'm not trying to talk anybody out of anything, but you might want to consider talking about it in a nonpublic place.

Even if AMT doesn’t cast an eye at this board, other people on other boards do... and they will be sure to point this out to AMT. So... if someone did see this and make it known to AMT... you would have no problem with it, right?
That's not what he said! He said that this kind of "scheme" might put everyone involved in it in trouble with AMT. Seems like words of wisdom to me, so I don't know why he's getting a sarcastic response. He's only trying to put the word out there so that 3, 4 months down the line there aren't a bunch of people screaming that they were "suspended for no reason."
I agree wholeheartedly with the above. Douglife31, your heart may be in the right place but I think you are going to get everyone involved in a whole lot of trouble with Amazon. As turkimaniac noted, there is a reason you don't see faux HITs out there.
As someone relatively new to mturk, I was completely destroyed by this jerk. I did about 40 of them from him. Put me at 156 total, 120 approved (85.1%), 21 rejected. Ugh.... I e-mailed him through the site, as well as customer support. Is there any hope?
Zingy makes HITs like 'write anything in this box' and no one seems to care. As long as Amazon gets their cut I don't think they're going to give anyone a hard time.
Alright, all this conversation brings very valid arguments to the table. I agree that there should not be a batch of hits that the worker just accepts and then submits with no work... That being said I will find a way to create a batch where there is actually a very small amount of work, similar to the Sarah Shonka hits. I know I worked on over 500 of her hits in a very short amount of time. I am still working out how to create a batch, I should have it figured out by this week. I do not feel if there is actual work in my HITs that it will be an issue.
You're probably more likely to get away with it as long as no one is complaining. There also may be a point to those hits, though I have no idea what it would be.
