Yeah, totally fair point. Fortunately, people who have done our hits are used to our 5-day AA and don't have to worry about them not going through. But still, you're obviously right, and even our veteran workers would clearly prefer to have their hits approved faster. Since you asked, we're doing two things about this: 1. Actually, in reference to the post I just made, we're building our own internal scripts on top of AMT to make it much easier for us to batch-approve good workers before the 5-day auto-approve time. I was hoping they'd be done before we put this batch up, but they weren't quite done. At this point, I expect they'll be done in the next couple of days (though nothing's ever for sure when dealing with AMT APIs.) Anyway, the point is that once we have those scripts, we'll start approving our good / prolific raters quite a bit faster than the 5-day AA time. 2. In light of the above, we're going to reduce the AA time from 5 days to 3 days on all of our future batches. So once we post our next batch (after this one ends), it'll have a 3-day AA time.
3 seconds is MORE than enough time to decide if you find something funny or not. Most people who do your hits sit on them to get the timer up to 1 min, then submit. Jokes on you, doesnt take a minute to rate them.
I can assure you the three day AA time will do you good. The other part is good too and will build more trust on the people who love to do your hits.
I'm aware. I have a requester account. Sometimes when requesters block there is no scary email which workers refer to as a soft block. If there is an email we call it a hard block. But to amazon they are the same thing. It is all the same block button for requesters.
Hmm, no. While there may sometimes be a joke you can make your mind up about in 3 seconds, there's absolutely no way you can read 1200 of our jokes in a hour and give me a thoughtful, 1 through 10 rating on every single one. Some of the jokes are pretty short, others are longer. You definitely cannot give 1200 thoughtful, granular ratings on our jokes in an hour. And the reason I know that is that no one has ever managed to do our hits that fast while giving even slightly consistent results. Not to mention it's also just pretty obviously impossible. FWIW, the fastest we've ever seen anyone able to do our hits (semi-reliably) is 5 seconds per joke (=35 per hit). Very few people manage to do that reliably, but at least it's borderline possible. 3 seconds per joke (21 seconds per hit) is not.
Ah, well we never use the block button. We only revoke quals when we don't want any more ratings from a worker.
