Workers are using TO wrong. They are bombing TO and not reversing , destroying requester reputations. I suggested guidelines to prevent improper use
There's a new guy running the Rachel Scotts. That's why the TO reflects some no communication rejections. I talked to her about it and it was supposed to get fixed but the rejections never got reversed. I did not leave TO either so count me into those who did a ton of work for her with no rejections then all of a sudden started getting them. Do at your own risk.
TO is such trash. "Pays in one hour, 50c for 90 minutes of work, 5/5" "Takes 15 days to pay, 1 dollar for 4 minutes of work, 1/5"
I feel like TO is, on average, worthwhile to use. Then again I never read I only look at the scores so what do I know...
A few months ago there was a thread on /r/mturk about reforming TO. One of the suggestions was a simple questionaire or form where you're asked "How long did it take you?" and "How much did it pay?" and the ratings would be derived from those fill-in-the-blank answers. Of course, it was such a reasonable way to run things that it got dropped, as far as I can tell. Pity.
lol Oh, ok. I had just come in from outside and I wasn't getting snow, so I was surprised, thinking you were getting the real thing. Not that sometimes you guys get snow and I don't (it happens once in awhile), and I don't mind at all (not a snow lover here), but I hadn't heard anything in the weather report for either of us.
Take St. Paul today... He's a decent requester, his surveys pay well for the time involved. If you look at teh numbers as of now, you wouldn't do his stuff, cause folks didn't overturn their burning of his fields and salting the earth. Knowing that he's a good requester, I'll take the free money next time he posts, but lots of people won't and it's wrong.
The house I'm at now is up near Council Crest, so if any snow falls in the Portland Metro area, it would be here first. I'll be sure to report it if I notice.
All why some people sink and some people swim when it comes to doing this. Critical thinking goes a long way. I use TO as a barometer. Like you said, the numbers will completely tank that guy and make him look like a "bad requester". One of my favorite angles is dated TO from when a requester was likely new and they've come back with a proper HIT/batch. Have made a lot of money doing this. As one infamous chap once muttered, "scared money don't make money".
I'm at over 1500 feet but I know Council Crest is always on the Portland news when the first snowflakes fall.
Also, when will people learn that there is no such thing as a Hard Block. Amazon said so themselves. I'd dig up the quotes but I'm finishing up this batch so I can go drink with friends. Merry Xmas to all.
I think some of us were afraid of it because his reason for blocking us to begin with was to prevent us from doing his work. So ... if he didn't want me doing his work anymore, I kind of didn't know if I should attempt to do his work. lol I was so close to doing the hit but then just got nervous about it. edit: BUT... I didn't choose not to do it because I think he's a bad requester. I think he made a mistake, period. I think it's crap to ruin his TO over it. I just didn't think he wanted me doing his stuff anymore so wasn't going to...
