When I was struggling to make 5 a day I loved seeing how much people made and now that I have master's I still love it. I especially like it when a new person posts their earnings and are so excited about it because I still remember my first $100 week and was so grateful to this forum for helping me get there.

is there any point doing number hits after I get to 5000? Those I still regularly miss out on, but I don't see any 10k minimum batches posted on the forum
The main reason is to give yourself a cushion for rejects. The more hits you have the more rejects you can take without it really hurting your percentages. I did number fillers until well over 10000 just to build up the cushion.
What Major said plus it used to be that 10K opened up a lot of stuff. I don't notice those things anymore since I have more than enough now.
I actually just got finished sending them a polite but informing message. I'm not doing their survey. Accepted it but no. I asked them if they would work for the rate they are claiming to be above the going rate. Dang people. No coffee consumed yet, makes me stabby.
Wow, I thought mine started early, but they don't go back until the 24th. The boy has band camp today though - his very first middle school activity!

Yeah 15 minutes for at best $1.50 isn't even at the same level as the "recommended" 10 cents/min. So their best possible pay rate is still less than what the going rate is and yet they have the gall to say they are paying well and to make sure we do well. WTF.
Yeah I was like... so you are saying that we should be happy to be paid between 2.00 and 6.00 (if the max bonus is given?) an hour?
