Honestly, it does not bother me. I figure that the U.S. does express opinions about countries and leaders - either rightly or wrongly. It doesn't mean that I necessarily value those opinions. I thought it was quite amusing when they were agonizing over whether or not a chad was hanging and Fidel Castro offered to send election observers to the U.S.
I have not been to Canada since 911. Growing up in metro Detroit, going to Canada (or the bars/casinos since the drinking age was lower) was just as common as going to Pine Knob/Greektown. It is strange to think that the border is now guarded now - before they basically just basically waived you through. It never would have dawned on me when I lived in Michigan to need a passport to go to Canada.
