So I read the IRS' Tax Guide 2013 from a link that was provided in another topic because I was wondering if I have to file by April 15, 2014. I know that I'll have to because I'm almost at $400 on Mturk. In the 300's.

Now my question is, what form do I need to use to file? I'm assuming that I have to use 1040 because I am single, just turned 18 this past January, and Mturk has been my only source of income since April 15, 2013 (last tax deadline).

I've never made enough to file anything before. This is my first time doing this, so I need help.

I'm not stupid. I read the descriptions under each type of form, but I'm not sure if I understand all of it, probably because I did not pay enough attention in my Economics class in school.

I just want to be sure.
    Thanks.

I want to preface this by saying I am not a CPA! Contact an accountant or tax professional to verify this information. That said, here is what I was told by my CPA. MTurk payments fall under a 1099-K and you will only receive one from Amazon if you meet the thresholds 1) you made 20k and 2) the 20K was from the same requester. That said, the CPA also told me that it is your responsibility to report any income over $400, regardless of where that income came from. So the safe bet is to declare what you made if you made more than 400 total and pay the 18% roughly in SSD and SSI taxes. I hope this helps. I did not have to pay anything declaring the 400 because I did not meet the other thresholds to file a return this year.

Okay but my question is, what form do I have to use for that $400?
