    Hi all,

This is an update of the post: "Urgent - need to find 3 high quality workers - 30 hours work by Tuesday 11 Sep". As some things changed I decided to repost it.

Thanks to some of you, I have improved the design and the quality of the questions. Now I am very confident that you should be able to answer the questions in 30s - 60s maximum. So, to earn between 4$ - 6$ per hour. However, only if you have good reading capabilities.

I will post 11,000 HITs in the next couple of days. In order to do them, you need to complete the "qualification batch". Private message me with your TurkID and I will grant you access. You need to get 91% correct answers for EACH question. they are 100 HITs, so the math should be easy.

I hope many of you will try it. I want to find maximum 10 qualified workers who can complete at least 3,000 HITs in the next 6/7 days (but if you can do it more, you are welcome!). So, if you already know that you cannot, please do not even attempt to the qualification test.

    Best,

    Marco

As always, if you have further questions or suggestions to how to improve the HITs (design or the quality of questions/answers), I will love to hear from you!

You still do not have 3 workers? Hope you can get them but honestly I do not understand why you do not have them already. Good luck.

Edit: In all honesty to me it looks as if you are just trying to get all your work done on your 'test' hits. Please explain why you do not have 3 workers yet as I am sure many people are interested in why this is.

The test alone is 100 questions and is pretty lengthy.. It took me over 5 mins just to do one question.. I'm sure that is scaring people off.. There is alot of work involved for the amount of pay. In fairness to the requester, he has been great with communication and feedback and is a nice guy to work with. I think maybe after awhile the process will speed up to get the hits done faster, so I may still consider doing this project :)

Hi! thanks both "2muchturkin" and "footballchick29". I will try to epxlain here and if it is no clear, please let me know.
So, I need to code 11,000 HITs by 2 workers. So, in total I need to code 22,000 HITs. I need each HIT to be coded by at least 2 people because I need to have at least 91% reliability between the two. However, I do not consider this a "majority" rule HITs, in the sense that it took me a lot of time to try to design questions and answers that are objective.
Regarding the test, I do think that it might scare people off. However, I do not want compromise on quality. There are only two people who finished it (and both qualified by the way...) and they both confirmed me that it took between 45s and 60s ongoing. This means that the pay is between 4 and 5$ ongoing (even more considering learning curve). Today I have 2 workers qualified for 22,000 HITs, ideally I would like to have between 4 and 10 in total just to speed up the project. However, again, I prefer to have 2 committed workers than 20 workers that they just try to do that.
I was contacted by more than 20 workers, but only around 6 did at least 1 HIT, so I am not even sure that the test was the problem.
I can commit to you that I am going to be very responsive and nice. I am always available for questoins and answers and I do not want to "exploit" workers. However, this is a task that needs good reading skills. So, if you take the test and you still take 5 mins at question 100, it means that these HITs are not for you. However, I doubt this is the case. On the other hand, if you take the test, you pass it and you are committed to do at least 4,000 of them, we can also discuss of a small bonus.
I am not sure what you add more; though if you have extra questions or clarifications, please let me know!

I might be interested in passing your qual and working your HITs, but I am somewhat wary of tying my Amazon Worker ID to my member name here.

The issue is you wanting someone to do 100 test hits. That is unheard of. You make 1 qualifying hit. That should be more than enough to see if someone is 'qualified' or not. That is the 'standard'. I would say 99% of requesters, that make a qualification, use this format to judge if someone is able to perform their hit or not. You are creating problems for yourself by making the qualifying process so timely and difficult. $4-$5 an hour is nothing special. If you were paying $10-15 hr I could possibly see someone going through the hassle you require. We can make wages better than this without the hassle. Once you understand this you will see why you are having a problem. Wish you luck in your endeavor.

I did the 100 qualifying hits and it was daunting to say the least. There was much communication between Marco and myself which was great, however I wouldn't want to do it again. I suggest that you make your qualification requirements high, like 98 or 99% then have someone do 10 hits for you. Put some hard or confusing ones in there and if they get anything less than 9 correct don't qualify them. 90% is 9 out of 10. I know you want 91% however it is a safe judgement that if a person can get 90% correct they can get that other 1% too.

    Just my 2 cents.

    @2muchTurking/charmingwhiteeyes.

Thanks for your feedback;I guess it is now clear for me that the task is daunting. Let me think how to improve it based on your feedback and I will do within the next day.

Just an update for those who may be interested or watching this thread. I am now certified. Doing the 100 tasks was time consuming and not the most fun thing I've ever done, however Marco has been great to work with. One of the reasons I'm not making much at this is because I'm a perfectionist so I'm reading these articles at 3 times on each HIT to make sure I don't miss anything.

I'm finding for me these are better than the Oscar Smith hits because at least I'm getting .05 for my 2 minutes of time instead of .02. I'm averaging $2.50 per hour on these which is below the $6.00 that is my personal goal but more than the .60 per hour I make doing Oscar's hits. Now that I'm confident I know what Marco is looking for I think I can bring my average up to just over $3.00.

Another benefit above the Oscar Hits is that once you are certified you are guaranteed up to 4000 hits that will be there til you finish them. No having to watch, and or search you just complete them as you can. So basically if you want/need to get your numbers up I would recommend doing these. If you're not making your goal or can't find HITS you qualify for, I would recommend doing these. If you have concerns or questions I would suggest talking to Marco. He is quick to respond and super supportive.
