This is a new requester who currently has a batch of over 58000 up, for collecting data from websites. From what I understand, he'll have a lot more to come after this initial batch. A couple of us have either dropped him a note or invited him to stop by. Here's hoping he does.
Thanks for stopping by! I'm one of those people who starts out by overthinking stuff, which I'm sure you guessed when I first messaged. Anyway, a question that crossed my mind is whether or not you differentiate Solutions from Services. I've seen a couple of websites that use the Services terminology. Check the Solutions box?
Great question Kris, I had the same. I enjoy the HITs, but I'm going to hold off on continuing until Steven can answer this. Also, are services considered software products?
I saw this on a couple of HITs and had the same question Also, what if the company has two addresses and neither is designated as "Headquarters?" I've seen a few that had several branch listings but no mention of which was HQ.
Also, what if there is not an "about us" page? I'm on a site right now that has a contact page but no "about us".
Foreign as in another language? Or foreign as in non-US, and doesn't fit into the typical US address scheme? I asked about dealing with a Canadian firm, since you can't select a US state for a Canadian province. Steven told me that it was OK to go ahead and put Calgary, Alberta in the City field. If you meant foreign language, it's a good question for which I'll look forward to the answer.
Yeah, I ran into a site that was a foreign language that I couldn't even identify. I'm not using chrome so I couldn't translate.
Thanks Sschneid for providing hands of work. What if sometimes website given doesnt load or open? Can we write the same in Update Confirmation Code text box?
Not services Actually no - I do not want services instead of solutions. Part if this project is to remove any company that ONLY does services. What I am trying to find is companies that offer their own software or sass product for sale.
If it is in a language you don't recognize, do your best to identify the country and put that in. You can leave all the checkboxes blank. The reality is we want to filter out counties we don't sell to, which include any country with a language you don't recognize.
Just put broken in the about us URL. It's ok - part of this task is to get rid of companies that no longer exist.
What I'm trying to find is a page that lists the management team of a company. If you can't find that, go ahead and list the contact us page.
Thanks Mr. Schneider for stopping by and helping us clear our doubts. Couple of simple queries: a) The website loaded but there is no content on it, just the website name in bold, do we consider this as broken and enter broken in 'About Us' field? b) I saw a site which had a combined 'Product/Solution' page, we can check-mark both the 'Products' and 'Solution' page in this case, right? And, on another note what's your time-frame on approving/rejecting the HITs? Thanks and Cheers!
