Thanks for keeping us updated! Do you have any idea when you'll be able to get to the 50 or so HITs I did last night? I want to dive in to these, but want to make sure we're on the same page first :)

How nice is it that a requester comes and give solid advice. This puts him on my trusted list fast. Now, if I can just hit 5000......

Mr. Bommannavar - will you be posting some more with just the 1000 QUAL soon?

    Okay.

The thing is, what one person is 50% sure is about the topic, another will be 90% sure isn't. No matter how much you refine your instructions, we'll always wind up marking a few you wouldn't have, and missing a few you would have, if you were doing them all yourself. It's inescapable.

Nobody wants to disappoint you here. We're all trying like demons to get it right. But you should take it as a given that we'll still get a few wrong, especially on this batch, which I think we're all hoping will be the first of many--encouraging you to become a regular MTurk requester is one of the reasons we're trying like demons.

As it takes a non-trivial amount of time to check for scammers, it is taking a bit more time than I'd like. 24 hrs is what I'm shooting for. I have accepted a large number of submissions already, so I hope you're not deterred from working more.

If you are iffy on how to mark something, ping me and I will let you know

I have no problems getting started right away, I just want to make sure I'm doing the HIT correctly. Just let me know if there's a problem with my first batch and I'll change my strategy ASAP. (You seem reasonable, so I doubt this will be an issue at all)

As for scammers, at least after this batch you will have a list of awesome workers to choose from for future batches!

i have at least a few more jobs in mind, but it takes me a bit of time to prep them and figure out exactly how to set them up. On each round I'm going to be keeping track of the especially good turkers for future batches.

I had a concern with one of the HITs I submitted to you and was very impressed with how quickly you got back to me, especially considering how many HITs you had up and the amount of work you must be dealing with! Thank you for being so prompt and courteous.

Wow, glad to see that a requester actually came here to answer questions and give some insight as to what they are looking for. Thank you for that.

I'm guessing I'm doing them well enough since I've had something like 200+ approved from the last couple of days.

One thing that would be helpful would be a note that we could attach to a particular hit.

For example, this one just had "Face it, none of you are getting Hope or Alex". I clicked flag, but wanted to note why it was flagged. This would be very helpful in borderline cases or non-obvious flags.

Edit: Also, putting the submit button next to the other buttons would be helpful.

My dog just jumped on my keyboard, submitting a hit I hadn't even started to read. Do these things submit if you mistakenly hit 'enter?' Though God knows, his little dog toes were skittering all over hell there, so he could have somehow clicked the submit button with my touchpad.

Agreed. I just got one that said "@Soccer__Wonka: Who ready for a World Cup Rematch?" which turns out to be a reference to the Olympics women's soccer final, but might not look at a single glance like it is. It would make me feel a little more secure about the submission if I could stick a note on the hit.

ETA: If that damn dog costs me my qual for these...
Anybody have any good recipes for dog stew?

Just hit Enter when you are done with the Hit, you don't have to push on the submit button.

So that IS how the dog submitted my hit.

I hope he changes the coding for that on future batches. Being able to submit by hitting enter makes it much too easy to accidentally submit a hit before you're finished with it. Even if you don't have a puppy in the house.

I hope not, that's what makes it easier and faster. I don't have to spend those extra seconds scrolling down.

Yup. Then we could have no accidental submissions, and no scrolling.
