Looking at the post, pretty sure he meant the race as in running race with all the other turkers. Nothing to do with the racism. Looks like a misunderstanding.
Hi all! Migration means I have to do the new quals one... by one... so I've got a cuppa and I'm all set. After that, I'm hoping to post a batch today!
Did anyone see how many more people got the qual? Just trying to figure out how much more our earnings will decrease once/if it finally posts.
Ugh, then it probably didn't even go out. You would have gotten an email. It's OCMP34's Curated Workforce base qual. There are two listed. One (OCMP) has 313. The other (ocmp- I think this is the new one) has 304. I don't know what they started at- hopefully someone else remembers. I doubt any of this info matters/tells us anything. I'm frustrated and think I might be giving up on this. I check religiously and the batch lasts like an hour and now there are going to be a bunch of new people, which just muck the process up even more. Turk is making me grouchy today. ETA: I don't mean to sound unsympathetic to the people who don't have the qual, but...it's the name of the game. I would have killed for the Algeion qual, but I didn't get it and had to sit by and watch everyone else make hundreds every day. I just think we've been patient and no matter how many batches we get in the future, we've all invested a ton of time in "OCMP Watch", so I am grouchy about new people swooping in once it all gets figured out. I'm not saying my opinion should be weighed in this, just wanted to elaborate on why I seem salty about new quals. Everyone's been there- on the outside of a qual, looking in. It sucks, but it's turk. That's how it works.
I agree with the previous two posts. I don't see why additional workers were needed. The work was completed in a timely manner. We've all been late to a qual before and we've just had to suck it up and keep pushing forward.
Yeah I'm not sure why more people are needed also. I've been doing OCMP34 batches for a long time, even before OCMP34 started posting here (I think it was somebody else that was managing before), and the batches always lasted a good amount of time, but still done in a timely manner. One thing that I am concerned about is the Retrieve Donor List task. When these get posted after Find Website task, it seems like everybody jumps on these and go down a WAY faster than the find website tasks, which is confusing for me, since I seem to make way more money doing the Find Website task. Unless I'm doing something wrong, for me the retrieval ones take a lot longer. I'm concerned that people are not even trying in the retrieval tasks, and just getting their 20 cents in. It seemed before there use to be a lot more extraction tasks, but now I'm lucky to even get 10, although that it be because everybody is running their panda for them.
I'm curious about the retrieval tasks going so fast, too. I spend more than 2-3x the amount of time on those than I do on the find the homepage hits, so I wonder as well how much of an effort some people are making. But at the same time, maybe they are just better at finding the donor lists than I am. Who knows. I lost my panda for the extraction hits haven't gotten one of those in several batches.
Going with taking twice as long they still offer better pay. The normal task pay 10 cents whereas the retrievals pay 20 cents plus a bonus for every donor list you find.
