Hello everybody, I faced a peculiar problem while i did ignite hits for the past couple of days. " Internal error" - this message displays after i fill in the data and press the submit button. If i try to reload the frame, there is no use. if I reload the page, it gets refreshed and the frame shows " Thank you - You may close your browser" and eventually i am forced to return the hit. This happens atleast once in 2 hits. I have mailed the requester about this and am waiting for reply, may be in a day or two. Has any one faced this or similar problem? Can any one please suggest a solution for this?
This happened to me after I tried to submit a few hits that I had already completed... Extremly annoying are your HITs you did still pending payment?
Thanks for sharing. All old pending hits promptly cleared after 5 days, no pending beyond 5 days. I don't remember, if that happened for those hits which I had done earlier. Did you write to ignite / Amazon about this and did you get any solution?
Next time that happens, try this: Click "Hits Assigned To You" and click "Continue work on this HIT." This may not work (you may still see the error), but it's worth a try.
Hello hapless, As you said , I faced similar problem now and tried to complete the hit which was available in the assigned hits space. but the result was none other than the earlier ...... The only option is to wait until ignite fixes the problem with Amazon. .
The requester has agreed that this problem was reported several times and they are working on it. They have collected some details about the frequency of this problem in the recent past , from me. Hope the problem is resolved soon. Thanks for your active participation and suggestions I will update the status as and when it is solved..
I am experiencing the same issue. Just click 'hits assigned to you' . Seems to work most of them time.
Thanks but that does not help, if the "Internal Error" occurred when returning the HIT. In that case, there is no way to recover and resubmit the HIT. (Reloading the HIT page causes this message to appear: "Thank you! You may close you [sic] browser.") In that case the HIT has to be returned. ... BTW, have you noticed an apparent possible problem with this requester's HIT design? I fear that the pre-coded city might perhaps be incorrect in many cases. The spoken street address usually does NOT include the city and the state or province. But when the recorded address occasionally DOES include the city, then we can check to see if the pre-coded city is correct or not. In a significant percentage of such cases, we discover that the pre-coded city is wrong! Therefore, it may also be probable that the pre-coded city is wrong in a significant percentage of cases where the audio provides ONLY the street address. Often, the spoken street address (or in some cases just a box number) might be accepted even if the pre-coded city is wrong. Therefore, it may be probable that many HITs are completed and accepted with an incorrect pre-coded city. In most cases the recorded audio does NOT mention the city, so we cannot check and correct it. I hope this requester has some way to error-check and fix such cases. But I really think it would be better if he would always provide the COMPLETE audio, INCLUDING the spoken city and state or province, so that we could check it! Of course I should probably send these comments to the requester, rather than just posting here in a forum that he doesn't read.
If you keep going to 'hits assigned to you' and clicking it, it eventually loads up the proper screen. I have not had to return a single hit yet.
I've noticed that and that's why I don't do any HITs for them where there's already data entered. It seems to be wrong way too frequently with no way to correct it and gets me worried about rejections. Sure we the correct ZIP code they could probably still figure out the correct address, particularly in Canada where I understand the ZIP code can basically lead you right to someone's door instead of just a general area. But still it's some I'd prefer not to risk.
That is understandable. I have had no issues though with them rejecting my work. If it is clear and understandable I enter it. If not then I return it. You gotta return quite a few sometimes.. that is agreeably quite annoying. I only do them when there is nothing else cause they are fast.
I've had one rejection from them so far. I clearly remembered the details mentioned in the rejection, so I'm not sure whether or how I entered the data incorrectly. I've done a substantial batch today and I hope to avoid any further rejections. ("Knock on wood.")
Cool. I've tried it numerous times and had bad luck. At some point, it may take less time for me to just return the hit and do another, than to keep refreshing umpteen times. Anyway I hope they'll fix the bug sometime.
By now I have received 2 more rejections from this requester (a total of 3 so far). I expect more to come. :-/ Again, these rejections report errors that I don't believe I made. Specifically, these last 2 rejections say I entered an "RR" (Rural Route) number instead of a correct "Box" number or "Highway" number. But I remember those cases and others like them, and I am quite sure that I always very consciously and carefully enter any Box or Highway numbers that I hear in the audio. So I'm not sure how these errors could have occurred. [Edit] I recall some cases where the pre-coded address (from the QuickAddress lookup facility) added the RR number to an address that already had a Box or Highway number. In some cases, but not all, I kept those RR numbers in addition to the Box or Highway number. I wonder if that caused the rejections. It's difficult to know for sure.
Still no fix. :-/ 205 of these up right now: https://www.mturk.com/mturk/preview?groupId=2HGWQIHPCGJ2RGI50MWXM0JWQUM175 We'd probably be more eager to plow through them faster if the requester could fix the bug. [Edit] A few seconds later and the count is 150 ... I guess we're still eager beavers.
I get 'Internal Error' while accepting HITs. Sometimes refreshing helps, most times it doesn't. It is a minor irritant. However, last 3 days I have been having a far more serious problem. More than 100 HITs have returned 'Internal Error' after completing the HIT and doing 'SUBMIT', which means I don't get paid for them. I have reported all of them as 'Broken' and also written to Ignite Media. No action yet.
any improvement as of now... I did not do much for the past 3 days.... as my returned hits has grown to 1000 from 600 in just 45 days...... both time and money lost....
