It seems working for pennies on MTurk makes people really frustrated and pettish. I've never seen so much disagreeableness on a forum. Instead of being supportive you jump at each others' throats, insult and belittle each other for every imaginable reason, including the most vile and unforgivable of all, bigotry. I'm sick of it. I'll just stick to TurkOpticon from now on.
Hmm. So you think it's ok that this poster not only admitted to lying to sign up for mTurk, performed HITs at a "60% correct" level, and now is crying about it and clogging up the forum, making it difficult for everyone else to communicate about working? As far as the bigotry, I'm almost positive that's aimed at me and LOL. All I said was I have yet to see an American outright admit to not following the rules. TBF I haven't seen a Canadian or British person do so, either. On the other hand I have seen other ethnicities stand up for following the rules too. Sorry honey I call it like I see it, and what I really see is your skin is too thin. Toughen up or you might want to try another profession. ps... I don't work for pennies and I'm sorry that you feel so little worth of yourself that you will. I only work for requesters that pay well and are fair, and this whole fiasco is over a requester I would never even touch. But I value the mTurk system and it pays my bills and watching scammers admit to doing shitty work on fraudulent/duplicate/fake accounts makes me nauseous. They are worse than the requesters that only pay pennies.
Oh please lady everything isnt all lily's and butterflies. I've never seen anything but constructive help and sometimes criticism on this site. Some people can;t take criticism, but guess what it's apart of life.
For God's sake, it's not bigotry to think a fifteen-year-old who's been in violation of the site's participation agreement since he created his account, needs to accept the loss of it. And if people are getting testy, it's because half the threads in this forum have been created by him, all on this same subject. We've tried to help him, but it's never enough. And now it turns out to have never been deserved, either!
