I have some bills that needs to get paid no later than the 15th. Is it possible to make 200 dollars in that time? Goal--$200 What I have made so far--$2.18
Possible, yes. It just depends on how much time you can devote to it each day. You'll also want to make sure you go with requesters that approve/pay quickly since your timeframe is short. But if you are just starting it won't be easy, especially since you are limited to 100 hits/day and you may not qualify for a lot of well-paying hits.
I've been on mTurk since 2010, so I've been around for awhile. I just haven't spent enough time in recent years. I have never tried to make 200 dollars in such a short time though.
Then I think you'll have a good chance at it! I'm strictly a part-time Turker but can usually make a solid $20/day if I focus for a few hours. I actually do a lot of my hits on my tablet in spare moments out running errands or waiting on the kids - those pennies for the quick easy hits add up too if you don't have a lot of time to sit down at the computer.
I recommend you join the daily hits thread (here's the link http://mturkforum.com/forumdisplay.php?30-Daily-Hits-Forum)... you usually have 150-200 people and lots of people sharing hits. Also, you should download something called "hit scraper".. check details and a tutorial here: http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?15157-How-To-Scripts-for-Newbies&p=834207&viewfull=1#post834207
I have been a Turker for a couple of months and set a similar goal. I agree with everyone else is stating it takes time and energy, but if your determined you can do it. My husband and I dedicate an hour every evening to just working on HIT's.
I've been turking for exactly 2 weeks as of today, and so far I've earned $230....so $115 a week. I'm not gonna be on Forbes anytime soon for my wealth, but an extra $500-$700 a month helps! Edit: Just to clarify for any new turkers wondering, I do mostly surveys and research tasks. Batches do have their place in getting numbers up, but so far I haven't come across any that are gonna add substantial monetary numbers. I have 2-3 requesters I do batches for when it's slow just so I can get to the 1000, 5000, 10,000 marks, but yeah... I stay away from them because I value my time a lot more than doing work for .02 and .03/hit.
