If you go to write.com, there's a qualification test and writing sample portion. It is CrowdSource, but to get your results you will need to provide your name and email address. That is where you have to decide if it's worth it to you.

I was really glad none of the test was timed. The writing sample part had me a little bit nervous. Should have results in the next two days.

I passed it about a week ago. I was extremely nervous as well. Don't worry if it takes them longer than 48 hours to get back to you. I got worried that I had failed, but I got an email on the third day, and just got my first qualification.

    Good luck!

The problem with Crowdsource is they never have any hits available for new writers. All their hits require intermediate or special qualifications to complete. At least, that's been my experience.

That's what I'm hoping gets cleared up by taking the test at write.com

I was getting frustrated reading about how people do 'so much writing' for them, making good money and I didn't qualify for squat -_- I may not be familiar with doing writing tasks but I'd like to give it a true shot.

I've noticed that as well. I've seen the ones for newbies posted exactly twice. They disappear in the time it takes you to refresh your page, lol. I think I'll sign up for turkalerter and see if I can catch at least one.

    And thanks Whimsy!

I use turk alert and it never picks up on any new hits. I've gotten direct emails from Crowdsource about available hits two times, and each time they were gone within the minute it took me to click them.

"Thanks again for completing our writing assessment on Write.com Our results show that you scored a 17/20 on the multiple choice test and did not meet the requirements for our writing qualification."

Nothing ventured, nothing gained - but that sucks.

CrowdSource does not have any writing work up, not have they for some time, which includes intermediate writing hits or any other type of qualification, so dont sweat it. A few advanced and creative writing qual hits over the past two or three weeks, but that is all. You are missing absolutely nothing.

I would second that. I hope that they'll let you reapply at some point, Whimsy, but right now, there's not much being posted.

I've done a few HITs in which you answer a product question or edit one. Other than that, there hasn't been much posted for beginners. I did manage to snag a writing HIT, but the time limit was two hours and it was on a topic I had no knowledge about, so I returned it.

Thanks but I suck when it comes down to being exact with punctuation and that's what the test was mainly dealing with. The score wasn't unfair. I was giving it a shot because the writing and transcription HITs seem to be the best paying. I've done some writing (review web sites, summarize this article) and can knock them out pretty quickly but I was trying to open up more options. Today's the last day of school for the kids so I guess I wouldn't be doing a lot of writing hits anyways.

I wonder what happened. They used to have so much work. Last summer, I got all my spending money by doing those 100-word paragraphs.
