I kept hearing this grinding noise, over and over for the past week. Turns out it was those birds pulling my wreath apart to make it a better nest platform.

I don't know how the tiny creatures managed it, because that thing was woven and glued--it was solid-- but somehow, they shredded it. I had to take it off my door this morning and throw it away. Now they're sitting on my wind spinner, glaring at the house. A look in their beady little eyes like I'm Tippi Hedrin.

It wasn't a nice nest. It was a pile of precarious shreds, resting on something attached to a door that swings out and slams back multiple times a day.
It was a hatchling murder machine.

I saved their tiny feathered hides when I threw it away.

ETA: Unless you're referring to their future nest. The one they intend to make in the eye-socket of my skull. That one will probably be pretty nice.
