Hi All We would like to find out names of people, locations, organizations, and other names in English text. We have published 100 HITS to gather some feedback on the task. If the task is successful, we would publish more HITS after taking into account the user feedback. Please consider working on these HITS if they look interesting to you. Best Regards, flyingfish
I did a few of these and I like them, but I think the pay needs to be a bit higher. Maybe .03 or .05 each would be more fair.
I don't really understand the types of objects instruction. It just gives vehicles as examples, could you elaborate?
I certainly have feedback. I suggest you take off the "masters" requirement. We haven't figured out how you actually get a masters, But a lot of us are excellent workers, but haven't had masters qualification bestowed upon us. I suggest using a different criteria, such as Total approved HITs is not less than 1000 or HIT approval rate (%) is not less than 98. You would get many more workers.
Hi jenni3kat! Thanks a lot for pointing this out. By types of objects we meant things like "Apple Iphone", "Ferrari F40", etc. I am sorry it wasn't clear in the guidelines. We'll update the guidelines in the next batch.
Hi katz840! Thanks for your feedback. The master qualification was selected by default when I created the HITS. I have changed it now to 95% approval rate and minimum 1000 HITS. Are you able to see the HITS now?
I marked some compound names wrong in the earlier hits I completed because I just now figured out how to highlight more than 2 words as a whole instead of separate.
No,,the batch is still showing "masters has been granted" Sorry it took so long to get back to you. I seem to be having a Monday on a Friday
Perhaps the issue is that Mechanical Turk doesn't update the qualifications in the middle of a batch. I will put the right qualifications in the next batch. Sorry about this time!
That is correct, you have to pull a batch to change the quals. It's also correct that it's often not worth it. Thanks for removing the masters qual though. Amazon charges you 30% to use masters - that's why it is on by default.
I see you are using a custom qualification - this is a very good practice. I have requested the qual - is it being automatically granted?
Hi swiftkick and riyazalikhan, I granted the qualifications for the next batch to people who did well in my test batch. If I don't get satisfactory results, I will open it up to more people and post a message here. But thanks a lot for your interest in my HITS.
