I believe I was bonused on every hit i got in for them here is the email.. Only bonused for the 'LAYER' hits though never got bonused on the many of the other 3 types I did. Greetings from Amazon Mechanical Turk, You've received a bonus from Citizen Engineers for work related to 2BZYW2GTP9RAE3AETAX96SOF89ROT9. The value of your bonus is: $1.60 USD The Requester included this note: Bonus for your job in HIT: HELP ENGINEERS TO SAVE LIVES AND AID IN RECONSTRUCTION OF HAITI - Layer - 1, from requester Citizen Engineers. Thank you for participation! Thanks for being a Worker on Mechanical Turk! So my guess is they only actually bonused on the 'Layer' hits maybe?
Every hit type they put up said .4 cents or .5 cents + .4 cent or .5 cent bonus on EACH hit... theres no reason why anyone should not have gotten a bonus as advertised.
I agree there should be no reason. My point only is my evidence I have. My figuring is most likely they bonused out then realized the cost and stopped. Possibly only making it through the layer hits before that was decided. Who knows. Sorry you was left out mate. Definitely not a fair way to conduct themselves
I didn't get bonused on the collapsed building HITs which didn't make sense because they said there would be a bonus, but since they only took about a minute each I didn't sweat it too much...still a little annoying though.
Riddle me this -- if they planned on paying bonuses on EVERY HIT why didn't they make it base pay? Never rely on bonuses.
In theory, I can see (and have worked with requesters that use) bonuses to get/ensure over 99% accurate work. (not retail data, but someone with similar work back in the day used to do that). But this seems more like the Todd Dickerson "bonus" to me.
I never work for the bonus. If the base pay is not worth the time then I won't do it. (Unless it is a reputable requester who is clear about their bonus system from the get-go and has a history of making good on that promise.) Personally I liked these HITs and would do them again for the same price, bonus or not. They were fast and easy once you get going and paid quick.
