Well. Shirley just responded to my latest email by saying that it is impossible to reverse my rejection at this point. However, she did send me the $5.00 as a bonus. So I guess I'm happy. Even though I had finally raised my approval rating to 99.8%, and now it's back down to 99.7% BTW: I'm not the person who posted about her in the requesters thread.

Here's my unsupported theory: she ran out of prepaid funds, and rejected all the work the wasn't covered. I'm just dreading emailing her in the morning. I'm so terrible with requesters I end up just fumbling and giving up.

Heres what I don't understand though, those funds have to be in your requester account before mTurk allows you to post the HIT. You need to have enough money to cover the HIT payments as well as mTurks portion before they even let you post the HIT. Those funds are held by mTurk, you cannot even bonus a worker any of that money that is allocated to pay for that HIT. Don't ever let a requester tell you otherwise. If they created the HIT, the funds are there and ready to be paid.
She wasn't that bad to deal with, honestly. You've got to be firm, though, as she tries to get out it by ending every email with "I’m sorry I cannot be more accommodating in this case," apparently.
Just throwin it out there in case anyone ever tries to tell you they cant pay you for some reason. I have heard of those stories before
