    Almost 2,100 nickel HITs today from a requester that I have never done work for, and has not been around very long. This may just be my last night using mturk. :confused::confused::confused:

    For any new people around, or workers that are too tired to think--

    https://www.mturk.com/mturk/searchb...earchWords=lubke&minReward=0.00&x=-1084&y=-89

    Four (as of this posting) different HITs. Beware the 60 second timer! Make sure you already have your quoted text ready to paste in before you accept.

    Only two reviews at TO, and one of them mine. I did a similar HIT for him two days ago and it approved and paid without incident.

    I'm carrying this post over from the other thread since a new one has been started. Warning, math ahead.

    Here is the formula another user worked up to figure out how many approvals you need to get to a certain approval percentage:

    x number of HITs you need to get approved
    r number of rejected HITs
    a number of currently approved HITs
    R the approval rate you want to achieve in percent

    x = (100 * r) / (100 - R) - a

    example: 8 rejected HITs (r), 2000 approved HITs (a), want to get to 99.9% (R)

    x = (100 * 8) / (100 - 99.9) - 2000 = 6000 more approved to get 99.9%

    Once you receive a rejection, you can never get back to a true 100% approval but the dashboard will round anything 99.95% or higher to 100%, so we use 99.95% as the approval goal. In the other thread you mentioned you have 58217 approved, 88 rejected:

    x = (100 * 88) / (100 - 99.95) - 58217
    x = 8800 / 0.05 -58217
    x = 176000 - 58217
    x = 117783

    So you would need 117783 approvals to get back to 100% on the dashboard, while not receiving anymore rejections. Now, instead or being rejected, what if those 9 were approved:

    x = (100 * 79) / (100 - 99.95) - 58226
    x = 7900 / 0.05 -58217
    x = 158000 - 58217
    x = 99783

    You would instead need 99783 approvals. What's 117783 - 99783? 18000, so you can see why it's kind of easy just to say 2000 approvals for each rejection.

    Zerda.Fennecus also posted a formula based on rejection percentage over here as an alternative method:

    http://mturkforum.com/showthread.php?7133-Can-t-Find-Great-HITs-4-11&p=214592&viewfull=1#post214592

    EDIT: I would give credit for the approval percentage formula, but it's been so long, I've forgotten who originally posted it.

    WHITE MALES ONLY or ASIAN MALES ONLY

    https://www.mturk.com/mturk/searchb...rds=sunyoung+lee&minReward=0.00&x=-1084&y=-89

    Social Perception Study ( $0.4 for 3-4 min task, easy and fun)
    Requester: SUNYOUNG LEE
    Time Allotted: 20 minutes
    Reward: $0.40
    Description: you will answer a few questions related to social perception. This study invites only White male participants for research related reasons,
    Qualifications Required:
    HIT approval rate (%) is not less than 95
    Location is US

    Make sure you pick the right study. If you click the link I supplied, the white study should be first, and the asian study should be second. But don't forget to double-check! Took me six minutes, but I like to dissect the surveys as I'm working through them. The speed demons should be able to do it in three minutes or less, but be warned that he threatens to reject anyone who finishes too quickly.

    Wow, only the asian study is left now.

    Most of you guys could probably crank this out in five minutes, but I'm so tired it took me much, much longer. Even at just five minutes, it's only marginally worth doing. Just a touch of writing here and there. Harmless.

    I recall it being six digits, and I'm pretty sure it was on the very last page...The "white boy" version disappeared almost as soon as I posted it, perhaps it had already reached its limit by the time you were finished? Sorry. I always return HITs when that happens, but most people here submit them and email the requester...
