Figured since no one else seems to be awake, I'd bust out the new thread.

Hopefully today pulls me out of my turking slump this week. I have until around 3 pm, going to visit my parents since it's my dad's birthday today! :D

GOOD LUCK EVERYONE! Hope it's a good Thursday!

No TO, 5 minutes, good topic, hopefully legitimate as it seems helpful and interesting.

    Testing Geo-Tracking Software
    Requester: Mytho1
    Time Allotted: 60 seconds
    Reward: $0.03
Description: Visit web page and enter your state location. Enter code. Done.
    Qualifications Required:

The description is correct. Looks like they are experimenting with this thing-- http://www.maxmind.com/en/javascript

The fact that page is titled "Secret Recruiting Method" is vaguely disturbing, but there's one positive TO entry, so I'm not worrying. I'm going back to looking for something that pays better.

As pdrmturk suggested, the odds that he won't approve are so low as to be negligible. If I recall, the intro specified that it should be approved are paid within 12 hours. It's safe. And I when I jump the gun on new TO like this, I generally leave a note on their board to that effect, just like I did here.

I did one, but couldn't do it fast enough to merit the pay with the fear of rejection. Maybe if someone else has experience with them, I'll go back.

Mind the Map! Subway Route Choice Experiment (no repeat workers)
    Requester: UBC MTurk Team
    Time Allotted: 30 minutes
    Reward: $0.50
Description: You're invited to participate in a survey about passengers use of subway maps to find routes inside a subway system. If you have completed this survey in a prior HIT in the past 7 days, DO NOT accept again. Repeated WorkerIDs will be rejected.
Keywords: public, transportation, maps, metro, survey, subway
    Qualifications Required:
HIT approval rate (%) is not less than 95
    Location is US

I found this to be easy and entertaining. It took me ten minutes, but the rest of you will almost certainly do it in less than half that time. The TO is terrible, but most of it is old, and the requester is reading everything and trying to address problems these days.

We were talking about these on the other thread earlier. I have worked all I can....it's time for bed. But there are still 1100 of these.

I did this a few days ago and it was fun & fast. I'll look to see if I've been paid and leave some TO.

This one really hurt my brain. I may just be dumb, but it was difficult to comprehend the task in some regard, and I'm 99% sure there were typos which further confused things.

    Psychological Experiment
    Requester: Lucius Caviola
    Time Allotted: 30 minutes
    Reward: $0.30
Description: In this experiment you will be asked to answer some multiple choice questions. (takes about 5 min)
    Qualifications Required:
Total approved HITs is not less than 50

Pretty simple. TO is a mixed bag, but the requester seems to be on top of things. Time is probably correct, but I was busy amusing myself looking up the meaning of "alexithymia", and then reading more about it. Wow, that word was made for me. I'll have to add it to my collection of fun psychological terms...Anhedonia, dysphoria, and now alexithymia.
