well i'm not saying 7 was a bad game, just not as good as people make it out to be (OMG TEH BEST EVAR). I always found Aerith's death flawed from a gameplay perspective. It's a great narrative point in the game, but it always bugged me from a gameplay perspective.

final fantasy 7 is very much a right place, right time sort of success story. final fantasy 8 is the more innovative and creative game. for the most part, i've found most of the series to have aged poorly. i checked out around 13, but i don't really play video games anymore in general.
