Open up the settings tab at the top of this page or any forum page. The first thing you should notice is your rep.You probably got a negative rep already from the jerk that gives negative rep for no good reason. They'll probably give me a negative rep for posting this. That's how crazy they are. :hurt:

Thanks! I did what you said to do and I see two posts and it says I have 12 points. What does that mean? Am I going to get thrown off the forum for having too many points?
From what I've been told the whole rep thing is nothing really. You won't get thrown off the forum for it.But be warned that you will get made fun of there. And not by me.I'm not the notorious negative reper.
No, you can't get kicked off the forum for rep, no matter how bad your rep is. As far as I know, if your rep is below a certain level, you can't post images or links. By the way, the higher the rep the better. Grey rep is rep that doesn't count. It can either come from new members, who don't have enough rep for their rep to count, or members who have received a massive amount of negative rep. It doesn't affect your rep total, but you can see the comment (or lack of), and get the general message the user was trying to get across.
Wouldn't it make more sense for someone to let you know that you said or did something stupid, directly, instead of giving rep? How can anyone learn if they don't know what they did "wrong"? <shrug>

Says 5-7 min. Edit: took me 6 min.
Thanks to those giving me positive rep. What I meant about that person and negative rep for example is something like this: NO ONE CARES ABOUT HOW MANY HITS YOU HAVE DONE. DONT POST THIS TRASH HERE. TAKE IT TO THE PROPER FORM. HAVE A BAD DAY. And everyone posts their good work here.Alot of people give encouragement for stuff like this. But this person finds the time to give rep like this.I don't get it.Why not take the time to make someones day better then to piss them off. :noidea:

It's designed to be anonymous, so someone can tell you they disagree or agree without causing conflict. That being said, people do abuse it, and it's not always the best option. There are people who abuse the rep system, who seem to leave nothing but negative rep. It's a shame, but it's the reality. If someone leaves a hateful rep comment, just ignore it and move on. People don't realize that it can be looked up who left rep, and what they said. We have dealt with rep trolls before, and I'm sure we will have to again.
