We are working on the system... At this time it lets other members, especially new members, know who is not speaking out of their proverbial butts. Additionally it is a way for members to help give recognition to all those turkers on the mTurk Forum that spend countless hours of their time simply helping out! Finally - it is a way to anonymously (BUT SHOULD BE APPROPRIATELY) let another member know that you do not appreciate something they have posted for whatever reason. Only the person receiving the rep comments can read them and the person reading them does not know who they came from unless they identify themselves in the message. To avoid abuse, and a ridiculous breakdown of any legitimacy of the points we are working on ratios that adjust how many points one member gives or takes from another based on their age of membership, involvement, number of posts, number of times thanked etc. A new member makes a "0" point change when giving or taking rep. Some one who has negative rep makes no change either. However, a long time member or an extremely involved member can make a much larger change plus OR minus. More details once everything is worked out. Right now I'm just seeing how it is used by members and working out the details. Thanks!
