For anyone who likes to write (they have you doing a do's and don't's list, of 200+ words), it's pretty easy, though they are a bit strict on grammar. Better yet, this gives you a qualification which Crowdsource says will allow you to do high paying (for mturk at least haha) writing jobs in the future.
I haven't really seen any batch hits that require 5000 yet. I just hit it middle of this week, but still.
If you do a lot of batch work it makes a big difference. Also, I think a lot of us kind of use the 1K mark as mental shorthand for learning the ropes, so to speak. Generally by the time you have 1K under your belt you are getting a goodish feel for what will make you money and what won't, etc.
35 minutes already and the only reason I'm still doing it is because I already have all this time invested in it. Ok, that was it. 36 minutes for a whole dollar.
I wish that were true for me. Best I can come up with is that if it will make money, I either can't do it or can't find it.

There's a bit of an internal feedback loop to it -- looking at the days when you made the most money and asking yourself "What did I do different?"
Congrats! I tried it but didn't manage to qualify. I'm sure I'll try it again later this week. Everyone else seems to like my writing on mturk.
You don't have to know who they are, just how they are built and what they are doing OBV - I always feel a little twinge of what we will refer to as shamepride when I actually recognize an actor and know their name...though most of the ones I do know I know from working in Vegas during the AVNs
1000k mark like others have said hardly effects taking surveys. I hardly do any batch hits and the 1k mark came and went with out any difference. I cant bring myself to do batch hits. doing 10 business cards for 5 cents feels like a ripoff to me. really havent seen a batch hit i liked the pay of. I dont know how they make $50+ a day doing batches.
Where is all this good batch work everybody keeps talking about? Only time I did any, I got in nine before deciding not to take any more chances with an unfamiliar requester. This was the one so many people got mistaken rejects with until the guy fixed it(which could have gone either way). I've got a 99.9% approval. I'm not interested in having it go down to 50% for the sake of a few pennies.
