A tip for finding good HITs while you're still new is to search by creation date, newest first, for $1 surveys and work your way down incrementally from there. Sometimes I just search by 50 cents, since that's pretty common. (However, with CrowdSource hogging the main page, it's been harder for me to find HITs on a slow computer and I rely on people here a lot.)
Do you have any magic to apply to the ranking script? I remember its dissection was on your project list. Even if we could get it limping it would be a big help on those HITs.
