I'm new to Mturk and I find the WCS script to be distracting(sometimes kills my mood^^). I'm considering removing it - but since I'm new maybe it has use in the long term? Can I ask your opinion from your experience in this?

I like it. Since I usually do hits that are virtually guaranteed to be approved and have 99.9% approved, I have no reason to be discouraged by it.

I dont find any of the scripts useful. I can do the math for the worst case scenario myself.

When I was new, I installed most of the scripts. I remember that WCS was one I uninstalled almost immediately, for the same reason you mention: mood-killer. :) And as Marcus says, I can do the math myself.

Have never really missed WCS, but I don't Turk in a style that often makes me concerned about my numbers.

I'm going to say its a plus to me! I hold a 99.9% approval. But I am so worried about dropping down to a level where I will not be able to complete quality hits. So I set my number of rejects down to 97%. When I have that many hits pending that if for some reason they would all get mass rejected, I know that I need to stop until some of them get approved.

Guess I'm just strange that way. I just use it as a guild of how many hits I can do without screwing up my rep to bad.

I use it. Just a quick reminder where I'm at but it is slightly unnerving to see it go red when there are massive hits pending that would throw me to 95%.

The only script I like is the turkopticon, the rest of them I don't fool with.

I think its a great tool. I have always been so cautious about what HITS I do, it felt like I was always losing money because I did not want to test a new requester.

Now at least I know I can take a chance sometimes and know where I will stand in case of a bad requester/mass reject kind of situation.

Of course I could do the math if I really wanted to, but I dont!

There are a few handy ones. The one that shows the earning value of all your pending HITs is nifty, although it's not much use for CastingWords since you get more from the bonus than the pay. I thought that was a useful enough addition though that I copied the idea and wrote a script that adds your current account balance to the main dashboard as well:
