Hello. I am a new mturker. I'm wondering which browser is best for this, Firefox or Chrome? I have seen the scripts page and am interested in using some of them. If you use any of them, please tell me, which ones and which browser and browser version you use them with? Thanks. :)

I think it is best to keep both browsers set up because sometimes you need one or the other. If you do any crowdflower hits (not usually recommended), for instance, you need to tweak your browser settings to get Chrome to work so people usually just use Firefox on those HITs. I installed Chrome so I could use Page Monitor and quickly decided it was my favorite browser but I keep Firefox because it is still better for some tasks and scripts.

Many of the best tools to use are on the "Scripts" link here on the forum but not all of them. Turkopticon (TO) is of course the first recommended script and then HIT database (be careful of version specific releases for Firefox). Often seen in the great HITs thread is Tjololo who has created some very useful scripts found on his signature. Another of my favorite tools is AMT Tools, created by another forum member ChetManley. I believe it is only available for Chrome and needs to be installed locally but well worth the effort. After I installed AMT Tools I was able to remove several other scripts because their functionality is included in AMT tools. The AutoHotKey program looks to have many useful applications but I have not had a chance to dig into it.

Before doing mturk I used firefox. Due to doing mturk I've switched over to Chrome. Now I rarely need to switch over to any other browsers for hits. Chrome tends to work best for most hits in my experience.

Ahmm... Newbie here ... where can I get a tutorial about mturk, because most people are talking about HITS; TO; Numbers; 100-200-1000 Masters ... Man what are those?

    Thanks for the replies.

    Hi nebulizer,
TO Turkopticon can be found in the scripts section make sure you add it, then on Mturk you can see ratings for every requester, just click on the box next to their name. It is vital and will help you avoid bad requesters and rejections.
depending on which browser you use you need to install either TamperMonkey (Chrome) or GreaseMonkey (Firefox) these will then allow you to add customized scripts to help make turking more efficient.(can be found in scripts)

Another vital script is hit database, keeps track of all hits that you have done

see the post by mralaska above about where to find more helpful scripts.

Good luck and if you need to know anything else feel free to PM me or ask in the greatest hits thread :)

I asked about this question this morning but only one replied with "Welcome". most people are posting about HITS ... what are the use of that anyways? re-posting? or just to help forumers to get good and easy hits.

Thanks, could I add you up just for references. ahaha.

Coz I am banned from Cowfin. hehe
