I emailed them back with questions concerning their legitimacy. I.E, do you have a company or university email, linkedin profile, etc. I am a Grade A internet stalker, so if they offer me some small amount of info, I can find them. I once got a rejection reversed on turk by finding a graduate student's linkedin, following her connections and emailing her advisory board. Thank Goodness she used her real name as her requester name.

Remembering back then 4 or so years ago reminded me of my favorite survey. It had the question that was something like if you saw this used dildo in say ebay or amazon would you buy it and it had the same dildo at various uses of wear from brand newish to a state that looked like it was disintegrating and flaking pieces off to the last one that looked like it was melted with acid or something. That was the weirdest but still oddly interesting survey i ever took. I cant imagine wtf the purpose of it was now that i think about it though. Also yes you read that right. It was a used one. They made sure to make that clear. This makes me want to ask the question of if someone has ever bought a used one before...
If it's a legitimate rejection, I'm not even going to bother to follow up on it. I know when I deserve a rejection. There have been a few times when I was fast clicking a survey and missed an AC and KNEW I missed an AC and emailed them immediately afterwards and apologized for being terrible and got approvals. That being said, if it's a rejection because it's a new requester that didn't properly format a HIT, or just plain didn't know what they were doing, it's never about the money, it's the principal of the thing. This particular occasion, it was plain from the TO that they rejected just about everyone and had no intention of reversing. It ticked me off. If you can't take five seconds to respond to a polite email, I will do everything I can to make your life suck. Things can get salty.

The demographics of the original survey were pretty particular. Basically you had to be my age and remember using Corel Draw and old Adobe Dreamweaver products. I was a big fan of Corel Draw. Graphic design Picasso over here. My mom bought me an awesome user manual for Christmas one year. I was so fancy. Which is what leads me to believe it's scammy, who cares about Corel Draw anymore?
