I still don't have my car. My friend sent the owner a certified check by certified mail last Friday, and it's lost somewhere in our pitiful, bankrupt postal system. Every day this week I put on my street clothes and called the guy, and he hadn't received it. Got undressed, put on my shorts and T-shirt and sat down at the puter. For real thrills I went down for the mail. Today was an exciting change. I walked to the little mom-and-pop grocery and bought bagels and cat food, then the fruit store.
