I didn't Turk today and it was glorious.

 

I'm going to try that one day. I can't imagine NOT turking lol

My last complete day off was in 2013. *shrugs*

It was weird not feeling like Sisyphus for once. I normally Turk 6-7 days a week but I've been feeling burnt out lately. Had my lowest weekly earnings in a while, but, hey, at least I have some strawberry shortcake.

A little perspective. My first three years I burned out all the time! (Dinosaur here -- started way back in 2009). From what I can tell, you guys are way better than I was at a similar stage! You will get better at this.

My break came when Amazon gave me masters. That gave me so much hope and I really dedicated myself.

Hope Amazon opens the gates for you guys.

 

OCMP5 isn't, like, closed closed. I just got it late last year and they've given it out a couple of times since then. Which gives me hope that it's gonna last a while.

Based on the batches I've done lately, they seem to be making zero headway into properly categorizing anything. I get the same shit over and over.

 

Good point Gman, OCMP5 will probably open up again.

 

Yeah, I got it at the end of '15 (last batch they gave out) and if I hadn't gotten it then I probably would have peaced out. The platform is really not healthy.

Ideally, I'd like not to be dependent on this income. As my salary goes up at work and/or I permanently get rid of some monthly payments I'm burdened with, I'd love to be able to gradually phase out mturk and eventually have it as a slush fund where if I want to buy something stupid I can grind for a while until I earn the money for it.

Between the threats of good qualled requesters randomly disappearing, my account getting suspended for no good reason, and Amazon just selling off or closing the platform because it's annoying to maintain, I just don't feel comfortable having this as a make-or-break portion of my income.
