    Hello,

I was finishing up a survey and instead of its generating an approval number to be posted on the hit page,it asked me to make up my own number, enter it on the survey page, and then copy my made up number to the hit page.

I did so and submitted the hit. I got a screen telling me my account was suspended for five minutes. I sent a mail to M Turk and received the usual computer generated response referring me to the policies page.

Was the made up code the reason or might it have been something else?

Should I inform the hitee what happened? My dashboard entered and paid the hit.

    -------------

    Thanks

That's strange. I've done quite a few that have me enter my own number and then enter that number on the original page. It was probably just a glitch. I'm glad it was resolved though.

No it wasn't the HIT you did.

After you were unsuspended did you have to enter a captcha?

I believe I know what it was. If you had to enter a captcha after then what happened was after you submitted the HIT you accidentally hit enter(for about a second or so) which "entered" the captcha code twice locking you out for five minutes.

This has happened to me a ton of times. It really annoys me.

That's exactly why it did that. Thank you stormsyr.

  5. I had the same incident. If you accidentally hit Enter without typing the captcha, it assumes that you have entered the code wrongly and suspends your account for 5 minutes. But, the suspension only happens if you enter incorrect code for 5 times, or if you did not enter captcha for 5 times. Nothing to worry though, it will become perfectly normal after 5 minutes.
