Know that feeling. AT&T finally upgraded me from 1.5 to 6 Mbps last year. Well, "up to" 6 Mbps. Their web site now claims they can provide "up to" 12 Mbps to my house but it'll require a visit by a technician and $100. But given my two neighbors still can't play youtube videos despite numerous complaints and visits I am considering myself lucky and their tech guys are not going anywhere near my wiring. Small town and a de facto monopoly (the cable company is FAR worse). They simply have no reason to care.
