I need to take some more risk, because all Oscar all the time is not only not very lucrative, it's getting boring too. But it's difficult to jump in. He did get me over the 5000 approved hit mark today, though. :)

Redwood was rife with abuse the last time I looked at them. It was so obvious some clever person had figured out how to feed their audio output through a machine transcription program and spit it back as a transcription.

Curious as to why you are avoiding returning things. I haven't seen any HIT or QUAL that takes this into consideration. I return all the time and have never had any issues.

I've also tried to perfect my return and abandoned stats also. Just as you see how many people get suspended for no reason given by amazon. People say these other stats doesn't matter. But is that word or mouth or a statement given from amazon? Who knows? But I'm trying to make mine look as perfect as possible on both sides of the board. I think it looks better anyway hehe.

As far as hits that require a certain return rate or abandoned rate. I did run across an odball batch one time that had the qualifications set to you had to have greather then <1000 approved hits and a 100% Summitted rate. Which was odd, rare, and disqualifies almost every body instantly. It might have been for a particular person, who knows.

I try to generally do safe hits. So that means when I submit a hit I will likely get paid, and I won't if I return it. So if submitting is worth my time rather than returning and trying to find another one, I submit, and it usually is, because I generally know the requester or have read their TO.

Still a noob compared to all of you, but with a month down (after a few months of very casual turking) I've been able to get both rejections I have received overturned.

    ... Submitted 3611 (92.0%)
    ... Returned 302 (7.7%)
    ... Abandoned 11 (0.3%)
    ... Approved 3435 (100.0%)
    ... Rejected 0 (0.0%)

That returned rate is down from over 10% ever since I saw a hit with a Submission % qual. If that becomes the norm I'm really hoping to be ready for it.

Got a mass rejection from a new requester long time ago, or else I would have an approval rate of atleast 99.9% :p

No mass rejections; I was trying out new writing requesters for a while, so there were never more than two rejections from any given requester at a time. Some did reject a lot of what they received, according to TO; I was just cautious and lucky in those cases.

I haven't done batch HITs or new requesters in some time; I work on a low-volume approach every Turking day.

You've explained it, but for some reason I expected you to have tens of thousands approved under your belt.
