I did a hit where I had to write a short response to a debate question. I had to submit it to an outside website and paste a copy in the mturk.com page. When I pasted the copy in, the spell checker showed that I'd made a typo in one word (a missing letter).

The instructions said spelling had to be correct, or it would be rejected. I was able to correct it on the mturk page, but not on the outside website. It won't be immediately posted to that website, so I can't just go edit it there.

I imagine it will be rejected, and that will really drag down my approval rate, as I have less than 20 hits done so far. Is there any way to fix this, anything I can do?

You could contact the requester and try to explain.

What hit was this? Did it really say it would reject you for one mispelling?

I wondered if I was allowed to post details about hits. The requestor was Crowdsource. The hit title was "Write: Short Opinion to a Question" and the website it was for was Debate.org.

The instruction says: "Submissions must be written using complete sentences, proper grammar and correct spelling"

I see now that I blew it another way. I was supposed to put "Yes" or "No" in the title, and I didn't. I will try to contact the requestor, but it doesn't look good.

I've made a typo or two on those hits (it's perfectly fine to post requester and hit names here), and I've never been rejected. I did, however, start submitting the hit before submitting the argument on the debate site, just in case.
