Fish flies? We have mayflies that show up on the radar when they hatch. I remember one year they were so bad they used snow plows to scrape them off the roads.

TIL: Michiganders are dumb. They are mayflies. The actual things known to the rest of the world as fishflies are not what we have. Guess they just call them that because people here like to say "Kmarts" and "Krogers" and they stink like fish when they are dead, so screw what they really are. They have to do that here every year, it's more dangerous than ice when they are out. The first year here, I was fascinated that they sounded like sizzling bacon when cars drove over them, but now, I'm totally over it. Spoiler
