I just completed a survey for this requester. I took the job because I saw good reviews on Turkopticon. My experience was disappointing. The survey said that it would last 20 minutes. It took me only 10 minutes to complete. I was told to keep the MTurk window open so that I could back and place my code for payment, which I did. I followed all the instructions correctly. I made the best effort to answer correctly. At the end of the survey, I was told to come up with a 6-digit code so that I could get paid.
I came up with my code and went back to the MTurk window to place it so that I could get paid. It had a red notice that said that hte time had expired! A supposedly 20-minute job, done in 10 minutes and the time had expired! So she took my work and I will get no money. I sent an email to Amazon protesting. I want to spare anyone else the experience.

You know if the HIT expired, you can likely accept it again and submit your code.

I see 3 HITs from that requester as I type.

I tried repeatedly to go back to the proper screen and could not. It was weird that it expired before time. I just felt cheated, that's all.

    Hi Goodtaste,

Very sorry to hear that. You send a mail to the requester with the 6-digit code and tell about which HIT you were working on... Good Luck!!
