I have the same issue! I really want the pending earnings but I just can't get it! I like Chrome and I really don't want to switch but I am thinking about using firefox only when working on mturk. If you find out how to get it through Chrome let me know! I'll do the same:)

When you click on "Install" and get the message about the chrome store, the script should still download and be visible in the download bar at the bottom of the screen.
Next, open a new tab and put "chrome://chrome/extensions/" in the address bar.
Drag the .js file from the download bar into the window and it should say "Drop to install".

*Just realized someone has already explained how to do this in the "Chrome?" thread.

I have never seen a download bar in the middle of the page before lol. Here is the download bar I am talking about:

However, it is probably easier to just use tampermonkey, as you can get that from the chrome store.

Download the Tamper Monkey extension as suggested previously, that should allow them to be installed, or...

You can use Chromium browser rather than Chrome. Basically Chromium is the open-source project that Chrome is based on, so the browsers are essentially identical, but Chromium just doesn't have the Google branding. You can look into it here: http://www.chromium.org/Home
