What the title says. I don't even know why I feel this way, when I'm not even making minimum wage for my state.... It kinda feels like a real job to me....Maybe because I don't feel like I'm making enough money, but I don't know/not sure why.... Anyone else ever feel this way about Turk?
It's like any job where there's no set salary, it'll be a bit stressful cause it's entirely up to you to dictate the amount of money you'll make. You might thrive at times, but go through slight droughts at other times.
It is a real job, might seem convenient because you can choose hours and work from home. If you become good enough you can make decent wages.
If you can focus on article writing, surveys and transcription HITS you can make better money. The challenge is pushing towards increasing your hits. Setting goals for myself helps. I see many people are really doing well but they are really putting in high numbers of HITS per day. This is a sample that I keep handy to remind me how to really see difference. This is from another person's post on mturk forum. Approvals and payments that occurred this week: - Number of HITs approved: 2,186 - Number of HITs rejected: 0 - Bonus reward earned: $16.63 - HIT reward earned: $552.27 - Total Amount earned this week: $568.90 This is what helps to keep me going.
Its extremely stressful. Having big hits like the 6.50 hit i just completed seems like it would be reassuring but if that gets rejected....
Try some of the transcription HITS. I recommend you study their guides really well before taking their test, and then follow it to a T while transcribing. It does seem intimidating at first but you get better at it and you will make a lot more money. They key is to follow their style guides and don't waver from that and you'll be okay.
