    Hi all,
I just recently began using MTurk as a requester and while I had great responses following my first HIT, I’ve had no activity for my second HIT. This time around I added a qualification to my HIT so I’m unsure if this or another technical snafu is the issue or if workers are just not enticed by the HIT. If anyone would be willing to provide feedback on what they see, it would be greatly appreciated. You can find my HIT by using the following keywords: survey, sport, quick. The requester is Yochi Cohen-Charash.
Thank you in advance for your time and help!

I think the pay is too low, it says 30 mins in the hit, most people will not work for less then .10c per min

I can't view your HIT because I am not in the US, but could offer the following:

    1) Compensation is too low. The HIT says 25-30 mins, but the reward is only $0.75. That only works out $1.50-$2.25 per hour, which is low even by MTurk standards.

    2) The other issue could be the qualification. Although it is auto-granted upon request, your HIT does not show up for people when they search for "HITs available" to them.

Another vote for low pay. The bottom-dollar amount *most American turkers work for is ~$4/hour, and even then, few people will do it. $0.10/minute is what many (but not all) turkers will do. On slower days, such as the weekend, more people will do HITs for somewhat lower than typical pay.

So, I'd suggest raising the pay to at least $1.50, but ideally $1.75-2.00. Now, it won't be a great cross-section, as mostly desperate people will do it. $2.50-3.00 would get a fairly representative population of turkers. Alternatively, you could make a non-Masters HIT that pays less, and a Masters HIT that pays more.

I just got the qualification. I will take it if it's still there, but I just don't have the energy right now, because I just took my medication.

it's the qual, 75 cents on a 20 minute survey isn't too bad, i'm about to do it, on the gamble that i can finish faster, but i'd never have seen it, because when i'm survey hunting, i'm sorting by "hits i'm qualified for".

just took it, maybe 15 minutes. ECL, have you tried posting it into the great hits thread on the forum? it's no worse than the 75-1.00 survey i see in there every day.

Thank you everyone for your thoughts and a special thanks for those who completed the HIT! Your feedback was invaluable and we plan on making some adjustments to the HIT. We found that without the qualification we were able to get a higher acceptance rate so we'll probably continue on without the qualification.

I'd keep the approval rate qual for quality of work, and drop the "No retakes please! is 0" qual. The pay is a little low, as the majority of the others have said. The only way I'd do this hit, is if things were "slow", and you don't want to be in that group; if you are expecting movement. Raise the pay, and drop that qual, and you'll see a much quicker response.

    Best of luck.
