June 6th was my very first day on mTurk. At first I was doing a ton of surveys, and then I got on a Redwood/Catalog Choice kick, and the last few days I was able to do more HITs with Wildfire Interactive, Real Estate Research, Andy K, and NetMSi. I wish I had the time/stamina to make upwards of $20-$30 a day. However, I am grateful--and thankful!--that I don't have to deal with a lot of location-limited jobs. As far as rejections go -- one from Movie Enquirer (meh), one from Bowinkle (apparently I missed the attention check question?), and two from MIT Saxe Lab, and two from Fluffy Cloud. But, it's not so bad!
26 days and 123$...averaging nearly 5$ a day as a newbie isnt a small task to do with and that too with an amazingly awesome approval rate... U shud consider yourself lucky that u have been to this forum from the very beginning of your turking..This is indeed a great platform for sharing and discussions of HITs and their nature.. It was almost 4 weeks after i strtd turking tht i joined this forum and unfortunately i had to bare a lot of rejections due to my negligence and ignorance of the consequences of rejections and a bad approval rate....But since then i gained knowledge from here..I was able to keep up a good approval rate and also increase my earnings I wish u days of goodluck ahead in your turking...Stay tuned in and get all the necessary infos on more and more good ways of turking
Thanks! I am very fortunate to have found this forum as quickly as I did... though, my brain wants to read stuff nearly constantly, so if I ever get into something I really like, I've gotta find the forum that matches it. I really have gotten a lot of great advice here, just by reading older posts, and finally figuring out how to use scripts... I think I installed the TO script about a week ago, actually, and it's saved me from doing some unsavory HITs (though I've done a few in the past). Hopefully I'll get enough approvals so that a rejection won't bug me as much as it does now. My approval rating was 99.6% but all the approvals from NetMSi bumped me up a little. Yay!
