On an unrelated note, I visited my parents house over the weekend and I snagged my dad's almost 15 year old gaming pad (Belkin n52) just to try it out. You weren't lying. A gaming pad really is dope. Like, this entire time, my left hand hasn't been doing anything, lol.
I got a reject on the $3.50 Group Psychology Study for tomorrow morning because I accidentally accepted 2 HITs on PandA, returned 1, and submitted 1. I don't see what it would matter. Oh well

Are you sure that was why you were rejected? I threw mine back because it didn't make sense to have a survey on a short timer today that starts tomorrow. I couldn't tell from the instructions whether we were supposed to submit it today or not.

I only ever did the initial training task. They honestly aren't worth it, but I wish they didn't know I exist. I guess I'm just conditioned to expect BS to happen, but I can imagine a situation where they start trying to get people banned from mturk and I somehow wind up on that list, despite having not done any but that one training task back in April (I think). These are the kinds of things I think about, unfortunately: How things can go wrong even though I'm doing everything right. And the world reinforces that notion for me, too: I got a parking ticket despite not having broken any parking laws. Plus, the only way to contest those in my state is in court (thus having to pay more for court fees), so the police are basically professional extortionists. Pay or else, regardless of the validity of the ticket. It doesn't matter that I have photographic evidence that I wasn't parked in a no parking zone, and I was completely legal. I have to pay it. My point is: The people who have power over your life are just as incompetent as they expect you to be. /venting
The reality is that the Police have replaced taxation as a revenue generator for many cities. Rather than raise taxes, the police are used to generate revenue through fining people. In Ferguson, for example: It's just as bad elsewhere in the country.
