Same. I dug enough to find California vs Greenwood, but didn't care enough to go further. My family have been dumpster divers for my entire life. I regret nothing
While it is true that they have little value and you may not care who gets them and maybe even the intended recipient doesn't care, taking something without permission is still technically theft.
If the world saw Egypt through my eyes, tourists would flock here by the millions. It's so totally different once you see through the bullshit

I really hate this "us against the requesters" mentality some Turkers have. Yes, let's chase away the people that pay us. Good work. Very few requesters are outright scammers. For fucks sake.
When it hits the curb it is the municipaliies property, and though it may or may not be enforced, it is often illegal to take it. I've seen moderators of freecycle groups tell their members not to post locations of items left on the curb for this reason.
Very few are scammers, but an awful lot expect people to work for slave wages. With the playing field so un-level, it's hardly a surprise that turkers adopt an adversarial stance. Personally, I just don't work for low wages, and I leave it at that.
Man... I hate spending 10 minutes on a survey, then getting to "Now, we would like you to describe...." FUUUUUUUUUUU!!! #returned.

I have no issues with that. I suggested some change be made on the TO forum in cases of accidental/ mass rejections and now I keep getting emails from people replying basically laughing at me saying requesters made their bed. I'm so done with TO. I'm thinking of deleting my account.
The one I complained about sounds like a scammer. I read this on TO: "The link for this hit has an affiliate ID in it, which means someone - probably the requester - is getting paid to recruit people to take surveys for Tap Research. I did a search for their affiliate program and found this page: http://www.offervault.com/affiliate-offers/details/offerId/1253706/tapresearch-surveys/ As near as I can tell, this is a CPA - Cost Per Action - setup, meaning the affiliate gets paid a certain amount for each "action" (survey) taken; the MTurk pay is low because the affiliate wants to make a profit. I suppose it's possible that someone who does one of these surveys could be offered others - which the affiliate would make a commission on, of course. But it really depends on the demographics. And the $2500 mentioned in the hit description, IMHO, is a just a way to entice people to do the lower-paying surveys. If it sounds too good to be true..."
This is exactly how I feel. If I don't think the pay is fair, I don't do it. It's none of my business if someone wants to work for $3 an hour. There will always be good requesters and surveys that pay a decent amount.
Most requesters are cheap. Very few pay a decent wage. I won't work for under 10 an hour. I'd rather do nothing. Most turkers suck at turking. Endless cycle.

Jeeze. I can't believe people are harassing you about that. Paul T made a mistake... one simple mistake that is freaking easy to make from a requester perspective. Amazon is the one to blame. TO is a joke. People manipulate it to their own benefit. Requesters get their reputation slandered for no reasons. It's fun reading the reviews by people who report rejections. It seems like they get rejected an awful lot. That being said, TO is still a useful tool. Some requesters are completely fluff-ups, and it's nice to not walk into that trap. Personally, TO reviewers should be vetted, and bad reviewers should lose the ability. That would fix most of the problems. The other problem with TO is that 10c/minute gets 5/5, and the weight that approval time gets give. 10c/min should be a 3/5 because that should be the minimum standard...
