"Systems Group" did a massive hard block on a lot of workers. As far as I know, all of us had all of our HITs approved and paid already, but they took it to on themselves to hardblock anyone who [they claim] made five mistakes or more. (They're apparently running some algorithm that tells them that). I don't know of anyone who did work for them who didn't get hardblocked .. but hey, nobody got rejected, and all the HITs were paid.
In case you missed my video of my earnings from yesterday, this will be the last time I shove it onto you guys. ...I put a lot of unnecessary work into that. I'm proud of it. Bear should mail me a rock for my troubles.
No, no new development. No email to me (and I presume others. I know that about a dozen people did write). It gave me time to Google the researcher, who has changed his MTurk account (once) and his MTurk name (twice). By 2011, he had Turkers complaining about him -- for rejections. So now he doesn't reject any more!
Thank you everyone for all the suggestions of things for me to learn by. I forgot to mention that I really hate Chrome and only have it on my system because of some HITS. I have not had a problem with FF but as my previous experience shows as I add more and use it more it may become a problem. The job that I held for 19 yrs involved a data base and I was always on the phone with CS and the programers showing them the new error I found. For some reason I always was the first to find it. I really hated upgrades. Hopefully by the end of Thanksgiving weekend I will have learned out to do new things.

C4C for Firefox is similar to what turklyfe was describing earlier. You go to the page you want to refresh (like the "previewandaccept" version of the HIT), highlight a bit of text (usually where it says "there are no more hits..."), then right click it, go to Check4Change, and set how long you want it to wait before refreshing the page. It has been extremely useful to me in catching nice HITs after someone else threw them back. You can also use it to check for a certain requester posting (use the search result page as the one you refresh). Downside is that you have to leave a tab with it running, but it can definitely be worth it.
I did work for them on Thursday & Friday and did not get hard block, but I stopped doing them when the soft blocks came out and did only 46 total.
what interval do you set it as on page monitor? I know when a good HIT pops up it gets all taken within 5 minutes
It depends. Certain types of HITs can be set to 10-15 minutes and it wouldn't really hurt you. Others should probably be set somewhere in the 1-2 minute range. You want to vary all of the intervals anyway (if you check the "advanced" box under a monitored page on the Page Monitor options page, you can set its interval individually,) and you'll get a feel for how to set each one over time.
The whole "This study wasnt real" "This study was fabricated" etc etc in these surveys is getting a little redundant. Its starting to become obvious, as obvious as the "attention check" questions...
Bear, I figured it out! We're rich! Rich I tell ya! No it can't get any faster. Well, if you're really lazy we could optimize the N's but I'd estimate 20 minutes more work to save 2 seconds per 5 HITs. Not worth it. Edit: I also saw one TR HIT without an address line 2, you could make an F3 function for that, similar to F2, just change which copy/paste you leave out.
